Butler County, Ohio, Sheriff Richard K. Jones offered free concealed carry training for 50 teachers and 250 teachers responded within 24 hours.
Breitbart News reported that Jones began advertising the free training on Sunday and the immediate response was 50 emails within 20 minutes:
On February 20 Fox 91 reported the response had jumped to 250 teachers who wanted training. Jones reveled in the opportunity to instruct them, saying, We have 250 and growing fast. We will start training fast, next week.
He stressed that he wants teachers to understand what they can do with a gun if an armed attacker enters the classroom. And while he cannot delegate the authority for teachers to carry on a given campusthat is a school board decisionJones said he wants the teachers to be ready if their school board so chooses.

I agree with that.
My thought is that most of those kids were caught in place and may not have been able to get to a gun locker.
This guy knew the school pretty good too, having attended there.
I grew up in a farming community. Kids had guns and learned how to shoot when they were 7 or 8. They learned when not to shoot, too. Decent kids would be fine with guns. Sadly, decent kids are hard to find now.
I think kids can see a situation where a gun is indicated, but I’m not sure they would have the ability to use the gun as a backup, and talk the person down. When I young kid is involved, you need to at least try. There are some things that come with more years.
Of course we’ve seen reports on the forum when kids have used clear cut decision making on black and white issues, killing someone with a guy for justified reasons.
I’m not totally against it by any means.
I’m not rock solid on it, but I do have my preferred position on it.
Thanks for your comments. I agree with them.
When in highschool, I carried a 12ga,
and a .22 rifle in the gun rack in
my pickup. In plain view. And I was
not the only one to do so.
School shootings back then were
virtuously non-existent. When schooled
correctly, and responsibly, 16 year
olds can handle weapons just fine, and
would have the fortitude to know when
their use was warranted.
Public school kids SHOULD march on DC. They SHOULD insist on safety. And this is how to do it. No more gun free zones. We shouldnt be forced to send our kids to public schools if they cant keep them as safe as a rock concert. Seriously. No kid has to attend a rock concert.
Virtually...my apologies...
first sign of common sense in a group generally clueless...I say that because they follow the marching orders of a corrupt leftist organization without a wimper..
I simply cant iamgine your world. It seems as alien to how I grew up as the Laura Ingalls Wilder stories. 9 years old. On a hose with a rifle. I like it, I just cant imagine it.
This is good news.
And cameras in every hall and classroom.
Thanks for your comments, and relating your experience with those weapons.
And a security "studio" on the back wall of the building with a security door to the outside, so cops can be let in to view the screens.
Liberals think they want total control. They know the people must be unarmed for that to happen. In the end those who end up in control are not who they thought it would be.
Now THAT is taking action! I’m sure the Hogg kid and Clooney wouldn’t approve though.
You are more than welcome.
I grew up in a rural area also. I can relate to what you were saying.
I had the 22s, but only a limited exposure to 410s and 20 gauges.
Let teachers carry in school and put “ARMED STAFF ON DUTY” signs at entrances.
Shootings would stop immediately.
If every school did this, the oligarchy would have to come up with a different strategy to whip the citizens into a frenzy to demand our guns.
I suspect a good portion of these teachers showed up in order to carry to protect themselves from all the juvenile/brats in school these days. Gotta respect someone who carries a gun after all.
That’s a great post and all true!
