This jack and sh*t to do with bump stocks.
You ban bump stocks because they increase rate of fire, you also open the door to binary triggers and match grade triggers because they help you shoot faster.
Once they figure out you can bump fire a semi auto without any bump stock or other device, just using your fingers as God provided them, then we’ll have a semi auto ban across the board.
Turn off your feels and engage your brain. They’re making a play to outlaw ALL semi autos.
Unconstitutional and unenforceable.
“So youre one of those people who would throw the baby out with the bathwater, because our President has to try and find a way to move forward on any number of issues”
Nothing is making him move forward on gun control at all.
“From what I have observed, Trump very seldom acts on the first position he takes. I just love the way hes put both the RATs and the RINOs in a box on Immigration. Now you have La Raza fighting amongst themselves over Trumps offer on DACA.”
That is 100% accurate and, having read the memo, it’s starting to look like that. It’s starting to have the hallmarks of one his political judo throws. We will see if it works out. If it doesn’t, however, he owns the consequences.
If you read the memo, it’s basically “Hey all you BATFE guys, that thing you’ve been doing with the review on bump stocks that your started in December, you guys just keep doing that thing like you were going to all along while I say some nice flowery stuff on TV.” It’s literally a nothing burger in and of itself; but it also emboldens the left. Dangerous strategy unless he has a huge hammer up his sleeve, and I don’t see how he could hammer dems on this.
Then again, I didn’t see how he could get them twisted into such knots over DACA either, but he really wore their hides on that one. So bad, in fact, the media had to make up more Russia conspiracy theories to get the heat off of them.
So yeah, if that’s what’s going on, good on DJT. If not...like I said. He owns the consequences.
“That is ridiculous. Over some add on? Really?”
Like I said above, this has nothing to do with bump stocks. Once the left figures out you can bump fire with no attachments, they’ll make the (valid) point that we either need outlaw everyone’s trigger fingers, or outlaw semi autos since they are now the same as full auto. If you don’t think that’s not what’s going on, you are sadly mistaken and your complacency will cost a lot more than a ridiculous add on part that has little actual utility.
“Arent you really using feeling and emotion over this?”
No.
No prob ... there is too much at stake to abandon Trump over idiotic bump stocks ... Trump has already saved the Second Amendment by defeating Hillary and saving the SCOTUS ...how soon people forget what Trump has saved us from
I agree with your take on it.
There’s a whole lot at stake here.
We are very fortunate to have Trump at the helm.
After reading the memo, it seems pretty clear that the intent is for Sessions to conclude (rightly) that firearms with bump stocks are not machineguns under any reasonable reading of the NFA, and that he is therefore without authority to ban them through regulation. Then Trump will punt the issue to Congress as he has with their issues.
I dont see what it really accomplishes for him other than deferring the issue in the hope that it all blows over, while creating a convenient scapegoat if it doesnt. Basically, the same thing he did with DACA.
I want to tell you to go #### yourself cause you don’t know #### about NY, and if you think you do you’re wrong.
But I like 99.9 percent of your posts.
I live in Staten Island. Come visit if you want to see NY values :)
Won’t be any different than yours.
And we ARE NYC.
BTW, what is you FAGGOT sessions doing that’s so southern
didn’t being a cowardly FAGGOT WAS SOUTHERN.
NOW I DO :)
btw, for you closet Trump haters, grow some balls and don’t peep out only when there’s an easy target.
You cheap son o a bitch red states, most of you GET more than you GIVE to the gubmint.
MOST northeastern blue states support your lazy, worthless white trash asses in your midst :)
Sadly, the president seems to be in the dark.
Might be he is listening to his daughter again.
Paddock was an FBI spook who got made and was dead before the shooting started,
thats a fact, it was an FBI sting deal gone bad
Put the fire on head out. And stop with the freakin slippery slope fear mongering. Ooh. Today its bump stocks, tomorrow they’ll get your 9mm, then the next day you’ll have nothing but a musket. Then in two years? All we’ll have are spears and slings. Give it a rest. Nearly 60 killed in Vegas and 17 dead in Florida. And all you’re thinking about is how to compensate for low T.
People like you give real gun rights advocates a bad name.
“Other devices”? No one’s coming for your vibrator.
Spot on. Something as simple and non-intrusive as getting rid of bump stocks and “other devices” which equate to “full auto” style firing? Lordy. How will we ever stop the next coming tyrannical monarch that we will need to fight in the streets.I mean, we do this every month and the only way we manage to prevail is we have our AR-15s with bump stocks and 30 round mags.
Apparently several in this thread. They are convinced this is the beginning of the end.
It seems so.
Somebody needs to tell Hoss he doesn't need full auto to defend the Ponderosa? Reasonable restraints on full auto weapons are already on the books and they do not infringe upon the Second Amendment.
BWAHAHAhahahahahahahahashahaha!
And this won't go anywhere anyway.
First, it’s irrelevant in terms of practical effect. Second, it is both in violation of the law regulating “machine guns” and of the Second Amendment. The correct answer is to affirm the individual, God-given right to keep and bear arms, and to improve mental health screening for those who are violent.
