I just saw a poll today which showed a majority want assault rifles banned. I’m not saying I agree, but I’m saying Trump has to take some action or the Dems get in.

This has way more to do with “other devices” than it does stupid bump stocks. You are very wrong.

I agree, not a good move.

It comes about 24 hours after the Romney endorsement tweet.

http://nextrushfree.blogspot.com/2018/02/mitt-romneys-father-may-have-been.html

The original Second Amendment has no permits in it for ‘concealed carry’ or ‘open carry’ and the list goes on of things embraced by the political machine aligned National Rifle Association.

I see no need for this regulation and it abridges the Second Amendment.

So what do bump stocks actually do?

I belong to the NRA, I am a strong defender of the Second Amendment.

However: I have never owned a gun and don’t know anything about guns.

What is a bump stock and what does it actually do? Why would President Trump sign a memo to the AG re: bumpstocks if that is an asinine thing to do? President Trump isn’t perfect, but I believe that he doesn’t do a lot of asinine things, especially compared to Bath House Barry.

It does not impact the second amendment in any way.

If Trump said this, he’s letting his stupid hang out.

He’s trolling for the dim bulb demographic that might just decide the 2020 election.

It’s not a 2A issue at all. If bump stocks were “arms” the BATF would have already made rules against them. They declined to do so (wisely) because what’s been proposed is asinine on it’s face.

Nonsense. Lip service is all we’re getting right now.
1.8 million illegals made citizens with the swoosh of a pen - let’s cut the bull and call it what it is...amnesty.

Banning legal gun parts from law-abiding citizens also with the swoosh of a pen - let’s cut the bull again and call it what it is...a direct violation of the 2nd Amendment.

So let’s just skip the bull altogether and call PDJT what he really is - a gun-grabbing, amnesty-giving, New Yawk liberal. So yeah, he’s lost my vote and my confidence, and we’re all right back where we started 30 years ago: you can vote for the establishment candidate, or you can vote for the other establishment candidate.

No thanks, I’ll just sit this one out and mourn the loss of our once great Republic.

LOL. Do you write satire for a living? This was a BOL funny fairy tale.

Well, when a person uses a pressure cooker to make a bomb, the focus is on that person.

When a person uses a truck as a weapon the focus is on that person.

Actions are taken such as concrete barriers to stop truck bombs. Something that might actually help with safety.

When a person uses a gun, the focus is on the gun, and actions are proposed or taken that have nothing to do with making anyone safer.

These incidents create emotional reactions - not logic. Clear thinking is needed, but the LSM just beats the propaganda drums of “get rid of guns”.

I have yet to hear one media report discussing the fact that a lot of the medications prescribed to troubled kids causes suicidal/homicidal mania, and hearing voices. Nor do they discuss the fact that gun free zones are just a target waiting for a shooter.

In the 50s all the guys came to school with guns in a gun rack. We didn’t have all these shootings. Why is that? Maybe we had a better culture. Maybe we didn’t give kids powerful mind altering drugs? Is there a connection with terrorists (Hezbollah is active in S. Florida with drug trade tied to VP of Venezuela).

This kid spoke of “professional” shooter. That implies money. Some of his pictures showed him in a hat and covering his face - emulating ELN (has Hezbollah members in S. America).

These mass shootings don’t usually end in trials. The shooter is either dead, or takes a plea. No court case, and no evidence for the nosy public to see or hear about-just the official narrative that the gun grabbers want us to hear.

Seems to me the question of guns is irrelevant. The real question is Why are kids doing this so often now? Why do we continue to have such “soft” targets/gun free zones that people can just saunter into?

Regulating some gimmicky machine-shop accessory that 99.9% of gun owners don’t use, and isnt even germane to the keeping and use of the original firearm, is not “sell(ing) out your birthright for a mess of pottage”, maddam Drama Queen.

Fantastic idea! Just seeing the reaction from the left would be worth President Trump suggesting it.

Pardon my extreme ignorance, but can a bump stock turn a non-automatic weapon into an automatic (machine gun-like) weapon? Is this a matter of facts or a matter of opinion?

It is an abridgement because the Second Amendment did not have any qualifications to it period like bump stocks, open carry permits, concealed carry permits etc. etc. etc.

+1 to everything you posted.

Knew a guy who actually went through the FBI colonoscopy and paid a sick amount of money for a trash gun (IMO).

After spending a similar amount of money on ammo and burning through it in a year or so - he got rid of it.

The whole episode was an entire waste IMHO.

What law does he think gives him the authority to ban bump stocks?

Bump stocks can get a semi-auto weapon to approach full auto speeds for about 5 or 6 rounds.
