Turkish jets bombard Iranian militia entering Afrin
Is this like the Iran-Iraq War again, where we could root for deaths on both sides?
[snicker]
Very creative :)
See, if you call them “Iranian” then it’s okay to murder them.
One more reason to stay the h*ll out of there. Let them kill each other not our finest.
ErDOGan is playing NATO like a fiddle - if we object, he will say he was encouraged - if we are silent, we ARE encouraging him.
PKK v Iranian elites (like the 65th) v “I am Turk!”
What could go wr...
This war has more sides than a solid hexagon.
In Amir Tsarfati’s last video, he says the Iranians are using Afghan and Iraqi Shiites as their proxies, what Amir calls “cheap labor” to do their dirty work.
Does this explain the Turkish attack? Not to me, really, unless Sunni-Shiite trumps Turkish-Kurdish. Amir says there are about 10 different wars going on there.
Were you about 50 when that happened?
When, I turned 50 or as my wife called it, I began, “My Reformation”. I called it, “No more liberals, stupid and/or bad people.
First, I refused to argue or try discuss anything with liberals. That has not changed.
Told my bosses, that I would not work with a new hire, until they had been with us a year. Even, then, I had the right of refusal.
Told my priest that 3 terms as senior warden were enough. I would serve on special long term projects, one at a time.
That has evolved to short term jobs, basically for a church service or afterwards.
My family comes first re time/energy/resources.
I think you are right. It was somewhere between 45 and 50...
After I spent some time attending counter-demonstrations in Washington, I think that is when the cement set for me...
(Heh, never thought of it that way, but I think you are right)
Hence your tagline. : )
I also rarely discuss anything of significance with liberals or people with anti-Christian attitudes. But I do stay connected, especially with younger relations, remembering what I fool I was when I was young.
Over the years, people change, and at times they have come to me for ideas because they know I won’t bark at them. Meanwhile, I save myself a lot of personal heartbreak.
Turks fighting Iranians....who do we cheer for?
I say arm both sides, sit back, and pop some popcorn.
The Syria Equation can’t be so simple. Need more variables for Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Lebanon, Hizbollah, Muslim Brotherhood, al Queda, NATO members and NATO HQ. Armenia has an eye on things there as well
Also need a coefficient of craziness adjustment factor when the moon waxes full, and for holidays. They can worked up over those.
Turks are invading Syrian land and now killing Syrian auxillary troops. Thinks are getting heavy (again) in M.E.
Turks killing Iranians?
Pass some of that popcorn over here!
Now all we need is the Saudis in the mix and we’re all set.
Are you kidding?
You’ll be alive 20 years from now with Lera posting this stuff :)
Dead bodies :)
I finally have a beef with Trump.
Why is Iranian backed militias, in an Alliance with Assad, entering Afrin?
In the immediate sense it is being done under the guise of helping the Kurds in Afrin, as they are the main targets in Afrin that Erdogan is after.
No matter that immediate sense, the long term is to deny Trukey a physical hold in any major way, on any part of Sryia, and thus a major voice in any long term Syrian settlement.
Also, in the long term it will not be in the Kurds long term interest as they could lose what measure of control they have in Afrin to Assad (and the Iranian backed militias fighting for him), which will blunt there efforts for a zone of autonomy in northern Syria.
Why have the Kurds made this alliance of convenience with Assad? (A) Because Trump did not offer them any direct U.S. support vis-a-vis Afrin and, (B) if Erdogan gets control of Afrin the rest of what the Kurds now hold in northern Sryia could become vulnerable to further attacks from Erdogan.
Trump needed to have laid down a big “Red Line” to Erdogan - stay out of Syria. He has let Erdogan pretend it’s about “terrorist threats to Turkey” in northern Syria, when it is all about ethnic cleansing of Kurds on his border in Syria. It is a giant U.S. mistake and the move by Assad and his allies is just the first shoe to drop from it.
Don’t bogard it, man. This is going to be a long, dull watch.
