President Trump on Saturday appeared to side with men accused of domestic abuse or sexual misconduct, following a week of turmoil surrounding allegations of spousal abuse against two male aides that brought the national #MeToo movement inside the White House.
In a tweet, Trump questioned whether due process is being given to those accused of wrongdoing and expressed sympathy for their damaged careers and sullied reputations.
Peoples lives are being shattered and destroyed by a mere allegation, Trump tweeted Saturday morning. Some are true and some are false. Some are old and some are new. There is no recovery for someone falsely accused life and career are gone. Is there no such thing any longer as Due Process?
The brief message, which made no mention of the accusers, marks the presidents most pointed response to the ongoing national reckoning with sexual harassment and abuse and put him seemingly at odds with a movement that in recent months has led to the downfall of several powerful men accused of abhorrent behavior.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), a leader in the effort to combat sexual harassment in Congress, said her stomach turned when she saw Trumps tweet Saturday morning.
The new mantra is We believe the women, and he is frozen in I believe the men, Speier said in an interview. Hes beyond rehabilitation in my view.
White House spokesmen did not respond to a request for comment about which cases Trump was referring to and whether he also thinks that the lives of accusers can be shattered and destroyed.
But Saturdays tweet follows spousal abuse allegations against two Trump aides that roiled the White House over the past week. Both men left their posts despite denying the claims by ex-wives of physical and emotional abuse.

I always ask, do you believe Juanita?
Two things from this story. First is that the FBI failed to fully screen this guy. Second is yes we do have due process in this country and the President is absolutely correct. It is my understanding that within 40 minutes of General Kelly finding out about this that he was let go.
Decries due process?????
I though that was pretty fundamental to American justice. At least it used to be.
All it takes is an allegation. Who needs proof? We all know that women NEVER lie. /s
Didnt we see this show 20 years ago when prosecutors coached children to convict innocent Day Care workers? We were told then that Children never lie.
Sorry, no evidence, no crime
The new mantra is We believe the women,...
Said some Dem witch.
I dont believe the women It’s not my mantra.
How about everyone else? Is that your mantra now?
Cause I could tell about some sexual harassment charges that I saw brought against men in investment banks AFTER the girls sat on the guys laps, invited the guys over for sleepover parties, told other workers they wanted to #### the guys, and on and on.
And when the guys made ANY kind of advance, BAM!!! The hammer came down on them.
And in deposition I BURIED those women because I saw what they did firsthand.
Only democrats get due process. Republicans are burned at the stake ala Salem Witch style.

Well, female idiot writer #1 and female idiot write #2, perhaps in your feeble imaginations he “appeared” to “side with men accused of domestic abuse . . .” (I guess he should have called for public executions instead?) - but, in fact, he did no such thing because he didn’t specify who or what he was talking about.
Put a crimp in your panties, though - which is a good thing.
“I believe the woman” is fundamentally Anti-American. Accusers don’t have a “right to be believed.” In our system, one is PRESUMED INNOCENT until PROVEN guilty. Period. Anything else is tyranny. Due process DEMANDS that the presumption of innocence attach. The moment we throw that away, freedom dies. Those with an agenda, government agents, those seeking to destroy others, could always get their way simply by making an accusation, because they “deserve to be believed.”
That’s not how freedom works. If you have EVIDENCE, you bring for the evidence and prove your case.
Accusations have NEVER, in ANY free society been enough to carry the day.
These communists are seeking to overthrow a fundamental tenant of our free nation.
Trump is right again!!! These disgruntled bitches should have told the police!! And they were absolutely interviewed by fib for
His security clearence!! Why now bitches? Politics? Go to hell!!
Has anybody checked their bank accounts?
I’m sorry is due process a bad thing for anyone accused of something? Calm down and wait and see, is a bad thing?
How about believing the evidence in the individual case instead of making stupid generalizations?
Crystal Gayle Mangum.
I keep seeing this said.
Folks, if the women had never gone public with their charges, there would have been no record of it.
He may have been screened adequately.
This is the same Washington Post that supported Bill Clinton and his sex crimes committed in the Oval Office.
That’s why we have courts and a justice system.
On the plus side, Democrats and the fake news media have outed themselves as being anti-male.
Good to know because I’m a man, I’m guilty if I so much as look at a woman the wrong way.
To the Left, when it comes to men, innocence or guilt doesn’t matter. Men are evil incarnate, period.
And the Left is angry because they believe men dont deserve to have rights.
Yup. White male voters have already have left the Democratic Party.
Now the feminists need to push the rest of them out the door.
Love it!
Very well said TG :)
