Mark Warner was texting a Russian oligarch using an encrypted app, Signal, and his messages were set to automatically delete.
FoxNews broke a huge story about Senator Mark Warner, which has been discussed elsewhere.
What I haven’t seen anyone else cover is the fact that the “text messages” were not ordinary messages. Warner was communicating via Signal, an encrypted app. Moreover, Warner had his messages set to disappear. (The hour glass icon in the text exchange.)
Refresh my memory. Why did Sessions recuse himself? For meeting with russian while still a Senator? And Senator Warner has not recused himself? Why no howling from the Public?

Gee....let’s ask Lil Marco Rubio....he tweeted out a tweet DEFENDING Warner, on this, saying....we knew about this months ago...nothing new here.

Richard Burr has to be the most worthless person currently in the Senate; he has done nothing but bow and scrape to Warner and the media. You would never know he was a Committee chairman and you would never guess this blob is a Republican.
Because Warner, Burr and Rubio are corrupt.

With Warner anything is possible, he is as sleazy as they come. Runs a close second to McAwful.
Apparently the disappearing texts don’t really disappear. Guess the senator should have stayed in a Holiday Inn......
They need to keep pressing on this for answers to those questions.
At a minimum he’s stupid. You’d think he’d not put it in writing.
Maybe instead of resigning he should stay in order to keep an eye on the corrupt ones.

It looks like a screen capture. for instance, on an iPhone 8 or earlier, press and hold the Top or Side button. Immediately click the Home button, then release the Top or Side buttons.
Though why he did a screen capture escapes me.
The NSA may have them but most likely only in their encrypted form, which isn’t very useful. This “Signal” app is a point to point communication tool that doesn’t use MMS/SMS, it is a network application between two people. The contents are encrypted.
Unless the phone they’re using is compromised or the person at the other end does a screen capture (most likely) the NSA don’t have anything.
I work in finance. We are required by regulators to not use text, email, legally required to keep records readily available for 3 years, hard copies for 7....
Or would you?
