Lots at play here. Summer ice, killing seals. So eco wankers will be po'd to learn about the massive ice. The peta crowd will be happy to learn that polar bears will have extra chow to fatten up for the coming winter. Oh, and no seals were harmed in filing this report.

A diet of grey seal AND poutine?
No wonder they’re nuts in Quebec.

Wasn't there an article within the past months that talked about starving polar bears due to global warming and less ice?
To: rktman
If the ice increases, the polar bears will not be devastated, right?

Oh, and no seals were harmed... by Gaia-damned human beings...
in filing this report.
There's that UK food critic, Giles something. He had a limited show that hit NA cities. In Canada, he did have a seal steak. Overly fatty meat.
Good for seal in its natural environment, probably good for the polar bears and visiting Greenland sharks. Not good as a steak.
To: rktman
Seal meat is something that should be cooked outdoors on a windy day.

The winter weather this year has been more east(cold) and west(Warm) than north and south due to a giant Rossby Wave in the jet stream that has been locked into place since mid-December.
While it has been very cold in the US east of the Rockies, the country west of the Rockies including California the SW, Pacific Northwest, western Canada and Alaska has been much warmer than normal.
So record ice in Eastern Canada is not surprising.
To: rktman
Obviously caused by human induced climate change. Its colder because its warmer, see?
