A federal judge has stayed the lethal injection of an Alabama inmate in order to have an independent medical expert review his claims that he is too sick to be executed.
[Snip]
A lawyer for Doyle Lee Hamm has argued that lethal injection would be unconstitutionally cruel because lymphoma and hepatitis C have compromised Hamm's veins. His lawyer also argued it would be inhumane to execute someone battling cancer.
[Snip]
Hamm was scheduled to be executed Feb. 22 for the 1987 murder of motel clerk Patrick Cunningham.

I propose we distribute all the Fentanyl we seize to all the State Prisons and let evolution take it’s course.
To hell with this thug, let him suffer.
A lethal dose of chemotherapy would address both problems at once.
And THAT, boys and girls, is the advantage of hanging - no question of whether the criminal’s veins have collapsed prior to the event ‘cause it just doesn’t matter.
True dat
Yes, no need for IV access.
The lethal injection will cure his aliment........................
Too sick to be executed? Our injustice system at its finest. The ones who get punished are the taxpayers who pay the vulture lawyers who make the living delaying justice for killers and who will prop up the dead to get the last check they can get. There has to be a special place in Hell for these grifters.
Too sick to die?.....................
This is such BS! Hang him, shoot him, chop off his head. None pleasant but they remove these crackpot medical concerns.
Interesting that his veins are good enough for chemo, but not good enough for justice.
Huh? Remember the left’s arguments for euthanasia? End suffering? How come the argument is good when it comes to killing the elderly, but not good when it’s about a murderer?
Because the left wants to off anyone over 85, but worships murderers and anyone in the prison system because it wants to overthrow the rule of law upon which the country is based.
He'll have a family member hold him down while he gives him the lethal injection.
“...out of his misery...”
Hell, put him out of OUR misery.
That too. Glad you picked up on what I didn’t say...
Yet another reason for states to quietly allow the use of the firing squad, as alternative to other means of execution.
It is technically simple, requires no special ability other than deer rifles and LEOs. The wooden firing line can be built in a day. Even any blood spatter can be mitigated by having the condemned wear an absorbent vest.
There is no way that it rises to the level of a “cruel or unusual” punishment, legally, and it is far harder to appeal than any other means of execution.
Yep, just shoot him. That’s quick and cheap.
Alabama?
Somewhere in ‘bama they probably have an old Sparky in a basement or warehouse. A bit of maintenance and in a few hours it would likely be ready to zap. No veins needed. Just a few tight cinches, a skull cap, and ZAPPPPPPP!
Impeach, convict, and remove this scum federal judge.
OK. Give him 100% pure dry nitrogen to breathe. Lymphoma and hepatitis aren't relevant to that.
