A mob of cyclists went the wrong way up a Manhattan street to reportedly attack drivers along the way.

The cyclists pounded the car of an Uber driver at the very least five times, popping wheelies and cutting off moving cars.

My bad. I automatically assumed “bikers”. I clicked on the site, but couldn’t pull up the video.

Both cars attacked were “black cars” with drivers employed by Uber. I sense that these youths were told who to target. Now, who hates Uber?

I bike commuted in Seattle for roughly 20 years. I was a conservative in a sea of liberal cyclist. I was always amazed at their short sightedness and sense of entitlement regarding the roads.

Of course, nowadays we see it as just what the left does.

I worked in NYC for years and lived in suburbia. These are certainly criminals on bikes.

That said, while the messengers on bikes don't usually destroy property, they are pretty dangerous and they act like YOU are the problem as they whip by you at warp speed.

Further, there is rarely a Sunday that goes by when the same businesspeople who bemoan these feral bikers during the work week, put on their form-fitting "you can tell what religion I belong to" unisuit and unapologetically travel in packs and make driving impossible.

Again, these criminals in the article should be apprehended. And of course not all cyclists are the losers clogging suburban roads. But the entitlement mindset that infects the weekend pests-on-wheels is not to be ignored.

Every time I see sign that says “Share the road”, I think yeah sure, as soon as they share the road taxes.

The thing about bikers is that most of them are also drivers. I always stop at stopped at signs in my car in Seattle*. I only stopped at them on my bike if it would have been dangerous not to.

*Now that I’m in Rural KY, I rarely stop at stop signs. I use the same rule here for my car that I used for my bike in Seattle. I’m in the majority. Rules are different in the sticks. They should be.

Did you notice that there was not one representative of the Caucasian persuasion in the entire video?

As a mid-western deplorable, I found that surprising.

That photo is the reason I rarely touch the road bike anymore. Only Mt. Biking these days. The road hogging, lycra clad, butt sniffing gear queers ruined the hobby.

My road bike has been sitting for a couple of years. I ride the mountain bike just about every day.

It's funny how much less hostility one encounters simply by the type of bike and what one wears.

(doesn't mean I'm not armed when I ride...)

Who said they weren’t criminals? I said they belong in jail.

I’m a Manhattanite. I know that messengers on bikes are absolute menaces. I can’t even use my bike in Central Park because the men who bike there are dangerous in the extreme. Just two years ago a woman was murdered by bike while walking on 5th Avenue during Christmas season.

Originally, I thought this was motorcyclists who have targeted the West Side Highway.

Ha! I have to wear TEA Party rattle snakes just to keep the gear snobs away. They’ve tried to take over inline skating too but skateboarders are often made of tougher material.

I grew up there then moved when it became the asshole capital of the world. You could not pay me enough to move back there.

It's a darn shame that none of the cyclists picked on a car driven by an Italian "businessman". You know, someone in waste management.

The cyclists are rarely from NY
IIRC, one of the perps was a NYC LEO.
