I worked in NYC for years and lived in suburbia. These are certainly criminals on bikes.

That said, while the messengers on bikes don't usually destroy property, they are pretty dangerous and they act like YOU are the problem as they whip by you at warp speed.

Further, there is rarely a Sunday that goes by when the same businesspeople who bemoan these feral bikers during the work week, put on their form-fitting "you can tell what religion I belong to" unisuit and unapologetically travel in packs and make driving impossible.

Again, these criminals in the article should be apprehended. And of course not all cyclists are the losers clogging suburban roads. But the entitlement mindset that infects the weekend pests-on-wheels is not to be ignored.

That photo is the reason I rarely touch the road bike anymore. Only Mt. Biking these days. The road hogging, lycra clad, butt sniffing gear queers ruined the hobby.

Who said they weren’t criminals? I said they belong in jail.

I’m a Manhattanite. I know that messengers on bikes are absolute menaces. I can’t even use my bike in Central Park because the men who bike there are dangerous in the extreme. Just two years ago a woman was murdered by bike while walking on 5th Avenue during Christmas season.

Originally, I thought this was motorcyclists who have targeted the West Side Highway.
