CNN counterterrorism analyst Phil Mudd is known for making provocative on-air remarks and generally being fired up during segments. A CNN appearance on Friday, however, may end up being his most notorious yet.
Hours after the controversial Nunes memo dropped, Mudd indicated that the FBI was going to take matters into its own hands and make sure they eventually come out on top in a head-to-head battle with the president. With the FBI and its director already making their objections to the memo — which purports to show FISA abuses within the Russia probe — crystal clear before its release, Mudd said that agents at the bureau are angry and will stop President Donald Trump from dismantling the Russia investigation.
“The workforce will look at this and say this is an attack on our ability to conduct an investigation with integrity,” he exclaimed during a CNN panel discussion. “There are hundreds of agents and analysts working. This not just Christopher Wray, the FBI director.”
He continued, “So I’m going to tell you the FBI people are ticked. If you think you can push us off this because you can intimidate the director, you’d better think again. You’ve been around for 13 months. We’ve been around since 1908. I know how this game is going to be played. We’re going to win.”

It is ironic that the new talking point for the left is to pit the President against the FBI. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The President is correctly upset about what took place on the top floor of FBI HQ and he has CLEARLY stated numerous times, as have others, that he values the men and women of the FBI.
This is a nothing burger and it is a further fantasy from the rabid opposition who frame everything as a battle to the death with the President. I had thought the MSM would calm down a bit, but they are clearly committed to the destruction of Trump. This is getting crazy, but if you buy into blanket hatred of an entire agency for the partisan actions of a few you doing exactly what they want you to do.
They have done this with other agencies too - remember the intel feud the media pumped up when Trump first got into office? Trump is succeeding as President and they will gin up every controversy they can to divert him from his MAGA agenda.

He knows where the larger We The People are. This battle would weary a lesser soul to the point of quitting. But God bless America and Donald and show us an end of wicked shenanigans.

The CIA and FBI lobbied to not release all of the files. Trump complied, but I believe he made his point. It was a warning shot across the bow.
I know that sounds like something a "conspiracy theorist" would say, and a year ago I would not find myself saying it. But now?
Doubt it, push a Civil war and see how many of the rank and file FBI stand with Comey. A lot of ex Military.

I generally support law enforcement and law and order and all I see is a CNN hack making another in a long line of efforts to paint the President as something he is not - an FBI hater. It is all they have now.... gin up controversy and try to portray the President as the enemy of institutions. Reading this thread, I had hoped the response would be “he did not say that and it is more BS”, but clearly the tactic by CNN to further divide us is working.
He has been pretty clear about this so it is just more noise from the anti-Trump network.
The average FBI agent has about as much control over what the director and HQ does as the average assemblyman on a GM line controls what the CEO does. True story.

For now, Trump is going as far as he can.
But in the end, I do believe he is going to need the help of every able-bodied citizen to join him in what will be Armegeddon: The Elitist Rulers vs. the Deplorable Patriots.
