Justice Department official overseeing Mueller and Russia probe under increasing pressure
The Washington Post ^ | February 2, 2018 | Sari Horwitz

Rod J. Rosenstein’s tenure as deputy attorney general and the top Justice Department official overseeing the Russia investigation appears to be in peril after President Trump refused to say Friday whether he had confidence in him.

After Trump authorized release of a controversial memo on FBI surveillance practices by House Intelligence Committee Republicans, he was asked by a reporter whether he was more likely to fire Rosenstein and whether he had confidence in the 27-year-veteran of the Justice Department who oversees its day-to-day operations and special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation.

“You figure that one out,” Trump replied.

The memo says that Rosenstein signed an application to renew a surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a former Trump campaign adviser, and says that information justifying that and other warrant requests to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court was tainted by political bias.

Now we know why Rosenstein was begging Paul Ryan not to release the memo.

Rod belongs in Leavenworth.

We know.

Rosenstein is just as dirty as Comey and Mueller.

The simple fact that he’s from Maryland made him suspicious in my book. And I live in Maryland.

Most anyone who’s risen through the ranks in government from Maryland seems to be easily corrupted.

Ryan, Sessions, and Gowdy seem indifferent to this flagrant abuse of power.

Rod J. Rosenstein has got to go. If he doesn’t then Session has got to go after he is awoken.

Greg Jarrett just said ole Rod Rosenstein threatened members of the intel committee that he would spy on their cell phones and emails because he was tired of dealing with them.

He and Sessions need to hit the road and don’t come back.

And Ron Desantis said today Rosenstein needs to answer more
questions from the committee.

Hey Ron. How about calling for a Special Council and let them
ask the questions?

Just heard on Hannity that Rosenstein threatened to subpoena the texts of the intel committee because he was tired of dealing with them.

Sounds like he is on the edge of panic.

Everytime I see Roseyshit he reminds me of a Nazi gestapo officer depicted in movies and old WWII actual pictures.

I was unaware of the following timing I think was stated by Gorka on Hannity:
Rosenstein accompanied Mueller to his job interview with Trump for FBI head; Trump did not hire him.
The very next day, Rosenstein appoints Mueller as special counsel.
Do I have this right?

Gregg Jarrett on Hannity just reported that Rosenstein recently threated Nunes and other committee members with subpoenas for their cell phones if they didn’t back off of him and Mueller. Talk about obstruction!

I heard that too D.

If true, Trump must fire Rosenstein.
Threatening congress is a crime.

Well DUh WaPo and it’s all well deserved. And it’s not because of Trump’s offhanded remark. In layman’s terms, the former and the latter, the “leadership” over at the DOJ is an absolute cluster _ u _ _.

Just heard that about three weeks ago, Rosenstein threatened to subpoena the text messages of Nunes and other members of the House Intel. Cmte. because he was "tired of dealing with the committee", or some such nonsense. So he essentially threatened members of congress because he was angry that they were engaged in oversight of the DOJ and FBI.

Heard this from Sabastian Gorka on Hannity.
