WASHINGTON President Trump said on Wednesday that he was willing to speak under oath to Robert S. Mueller III, the special counsel investigating Russias interference in the 2016 presidential campaign.
Im looking forward to it, Mr. Trump said of talking to Mr. Mueller, ending months of speculation over whether he would submit to questions from the special counsel, who is also believed to be looking into whether the president sought to thwart the inquiry.
Mr. Trump spoke with reporters in the doorway of his chief of staffs office, an impromptu news conference before he departed for the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
He also said he would be willing to answer questions under oath, but not until after asking whether Hillary Clinton, his 2016 campaign rival, has spoken under oath to the F.B.I. in the investigation into her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state. Mrs. Clinton gave a voluntary interview to investigators in July 2016.

FTR I think this is a really bad idea. Any lawyer worth their salt would not allow their client to be questioned by a prosecutor known to be gunning for them. The 5th amendment was not designed to protect the guilty, but rather the innocent. I understand there are political reasons why a president would be reluctant to plead the 5th, but to say this is high risk would be the understatement of the century.
What good can come from this?
That means he’s going against his lawyer’s advice. What a huge mistake.
Agree, big mistake.
Jay Sekulo will be with Trump during questioning Jay is TOP NOTCH Trump will be fine !!!!!!
None.
Unless President Trump is going to use the meeting to show Mueller what goods he has on him, then yeah this can’t be a good idea.
And under oath? He should insist on the same treat HRC got — no oath, no recordings, no notes.

This is a political issue. Not a legal one. The more Trump is hounded unfairly by Mueller the more he will hammer on twitter DAILY the fact that Crooked Hillary was not under oath, etc. It’s all about getting reelected at this point.
IT’S A TRAP!!!!!
Release the friken memo and shut this whole thing down!!!
No way he testifies after the #Memo drops.

DNC & Hillary Clinton campaign had contractual control over how the product they paid for was used & disseminated. That means Simpson & Steele had to first consult with Clinton campaign lawyers before taking the dossier to the FBI & to the media. Ergo, Hillary coordinated FBI hit

HUGE MISTAKE
Little do people know...Mueller was elected chief executive of the United States in 2016.
Trump needs to fire everyone of his lawyers.
POTUS will demand his testimony is broadcast live. Will be great beltway theater.
This matters:
“he would be willing to answer questions under oath, but not until after asking whether Hillary Clinton, his 2016 campaign rival, has spoken under oath to the F.B.I. in the investigation into her use of a private email server while she served as secretary of state”.
I agree it’s not like he would go in by himself I’m sure! His lawyer would put a stop to any nonsense.
This is good for him. He will be fine because he has nothing to hide! This will finally put this to rest, and only the looniest of the loony Left (on the Internet) will continue to obsess about this nutter conspiracy theory.
The rest of America (who have lives and work for a living) will forget about this entire nonsense affair and move on, as should be done!
God I hope so!!!!!
