Early...just breaking multiple police down....
Shoot first, ask questions later? You’re ok with that. lol
Good grief!
No, that’s not ok.
The latest is that the arrest warrant was for a woman at the residence.
See post 54 and remember the words from the wise person who reported it because its FACTUAL. Until youve placed yourself in the situation of built up fighting Id pipe down in the computer arm chair and take your cop hatin diatribe elsewhere. How about this? Multiple humans were shot today by a criminal perp and innocent lives were taken as a result. Cop haters are still running rabid and second guessers on every situation still at large.
That work for you?
No.
What gave you the impression that I hate cops? The fact that I dont want them shooting without just provocation “Shoot first, ask questions later”. Your wife and kids may be the ones being taken out in the name of officer safety.
When ever the guys on the ground get bogged down in built up fighting, they called my company and we fixed things. Until you want your laws coming from the barrel of an M-1 tank, there are laws and proper procedure to be followed. On the streets of America, the rule of Law must stand above all others or you have just created a military forced of Jack Boots that I will not tolerate.
Hows that, JarHead?
They already do, and they wonder why people are losing trust and respect in them. They've operated on the us vs. them mentality for a long time, and thanks to the digital age, we can all find out about it. No matter the circumstances, they circle the wagons around their own. Cop outright murders someone? Well, certainly he had a reason.
How about the guy that murdered a man with his own rifle? He may have been fired, but he didn't get any jail. He was found not guilty. Really?
Police eventually shot and killed the gunman, whom authorities later identified as Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty.
Found the motive.
Yup. Here in force now....
Cops rarely, if ever, shoot first and ask questions later. The questions had already been asked and answered.
In other words, they are intentionally forcing encounters at times when the target party is least likely to be able to make rational decisions, or at times when someone might reasonably suspect a person at the door could be dangerous and thus arm themselves before answering.
This is Branch Davidian enforcement ethics. Unless the person simply never leaves the house, they are picking the most dangerouns possible times to serve warrants. That’s a terrible decision for everyone involved.
Lutherans again
Ahmed Aminamin El-Mofty was the shooter in the December 23rd Harrisburg shooting. I accidentally posted some news from that one when I googled the shooting from earlier today.
Sorry about my mistake.
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) The U.S. Marshals Service has identified a deputy marshal who was shot and killed while serving a warrant on a fugitive in Harrisburg early Thursday.
Christopher D. Hill, 45, was an 11-year veteran of the U.S. Marshals Service assigned to the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He was part of a Marshals Service task force executing a warrant for the arrest of Shayla Lynette Towles Pierce, who was wanted by the Harrisburg police on a terroristic threat charge, according to a news release.
The Marshals Service said the located Pierce in a home in the 1800 block of Mulberry Street. While executing the warrant, the team was fired upon by a man who was in the home with Pierce. Hill and two task force officers were struck by gunfire around 6:10 a.m.
Hill was transported to UPMC Pinnacle Harrisburg hospital where he died. The other officers were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The man who fired on the officers was killed when officers returned fire. His name was not immediately released.
Pierce is in custody.
We are all extremely saddened by the tragic death of our brother, Deputy U.S. Marshal Christopher Hill, this morning in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He was a devoted public servant who dedicated his life to making his community and this nation safer. We will never forget his commitment and courage, David J. Anderson, Acting Deputy Director of the U.S. Marshals Service, said in a statement. The nation lost a hero today.
Deputy Hill joined the Marshals Service in 2006 in Washington, D.C., and transferred to Harrisburg in 2009. He also served with the agencys Special Operations Group. He was an Army veteran, having served from 1993-96. He is survived by his wife and two children.
The injured officers have not been identified. Harrisburg Mayor Eric Papenfuse said one is a Harrisburg police officer who was part of the task force. He said the officer bravely returned fire and critically injured the gunman.
York police said a city officer assigned to the task force was shot and taken to Penn State Hershey Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were reported as non-life threatening.
No words can adequately express the sadness we feel at this moment as we contemplate the loss of yet another law enforcement officer in the line of duty, Papenfuse said in a statement. I extend my sincerest condolences to the family of the slain U.S. Marshal, to his colleagues and to all law enforcement officers who risk their lives each day to protect and to serve our city and our nation.
Gov. Tom Wolf and U.S. Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey offered their condolences in statements posted on Twitter.
Frances and I saddened to hear this tragic news, Wolf wrote. Praying for the officers involved and their families. I am in constant contact with law enforcement, and grateful for their swift action.
My prayers go out to the family and friends of the deputy U.S. marshal killed this morning in Harrisburg, Toomey posted. Law enforcement officers face incredible dangers in keeping us safe. They should always have our support and gratitude.
My deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the U.S. Marshal who lost his life today in Harrisburg, Casey said.
A news conference at the Ronald Reagan Federal Building was scheduled for 2 p.m.
>>Start?
Sadly, a lot of FReepers live in 1988.
I would think twice if this were parked in front of my home!!
Lotta times premesis have been under surveillance before service of a warrant, and the hour of reckoning is selected basis observed traffic patterns.
You got the target of the warrant heading out of the house regularly at 7am, 6:30 sounds like a perfectly peachy moment to lower the boom.
Unfortunately, in this case, there was another criminal in the house who brought some pre-emptive BOOM of their own. Increasingly, that is going to have to be a planned-for possibility; perhaps send a robot to the door...?

Anyone got a link to the presser that is not timing out?
Language such as jack booted thugs mars every law enforcement officer serving today and is the language oft used by those who wish to marginalize and despise cops. The actions of few do not define the whole. If that were the case every business, every branch of the military and every facet of government could be coined with a special name besmearching their organizations. The term is further used in discussions where innocent officer left have been killed and injured as is the case here and there is no place for it
