More evidence of a blue wave. Is there any way to avoid a Dem takeover at this point?

Who were the candidates and other specific things that may likely have influenced the race just as much (or likely more) than just a simple “blue wave”? These would be the things I’d be curious about, but the fainting couch trolls and such others will be plenty busy here I guess.

GOP turnout was 12%. Our side has to show up to win.

Democrat voters are energized. GOP voters are complacent.

This has to do with the polarization in the country, and its downside. The 20% in the middle, only come out in presidential years. You then have the left and right battling it out in off years - moderates dont come out in off years, unless a pressing issue has them come out.
When Bush was President, his war against Sadam was very unpopular - GOP lost the house.
Obama was president, Obamacare and its cost was very unpopular - RATs lost the house, then Senate.
The RATs and media, have now made Trump the issue - hard to change Trumps image at this point.
The GOP is hoping tax cuts (policy) will overcome Trumps image issues. This might work, its gonna be hard to overcome.
Have moderate voters in my office, pro conservative, 2nd Amendment, etc, but probably wont come out in the mid-terms to help Trump.
We should be able to hold Senate.

There’s got to be more to the story. What was the Republican candidate like? Was there a scandal? A verbal gaff during the campaign?

Did not GOTV so they lost.

I guess I’m paranoid but I wouldn’t put it past Dems to allow (encourage) illegals to vote in state elections.
To: St. Louis Conservative
LS tells us DemonRats had 33% turnout. Republicans had 12%.

Um, guys, it’s a state senate seat.
Feh.

DemocRATS will NEVER leave elections in the hands of the voters again, after Trump won !
STEALING ELECTIONS WITH COMPUTERS and
Technology Cybercrimes, watch Bloomberg's
Digital Defense November 3, 2016 (19:40).
To better understand
"THE MASTER KEY" to stealing elections with computers, watch:
I'LL
NEVER TRUST ANOTHER COMPUTER COUNTED ELECTION AGAIN !
Things have changed!
Bennie Smith, a Memphis computer programmer, discovered HOW this is done through a
" ... a GEMS tabulatorfor Global Election Management Systemwhich is a personal computer installed with Diebold software that sits in a windowless room in the countys election headquarters.
The tabulator is the brains of the system.
It monitors the voting machines, sorts out which machines have delivered data and which havent, and tallies the results.
As voting machines check in and their votes are included in the official count, each machines status turns green on the GEMS master panel.
A red light means the upload has failed.
At the end of Memphiss election night in October 2015, there was no indication from the technician running Shelby Countys GEMS tabulator that any voting machine hadnt checked in or that any votes had gone missing, according to election commission e-mails obtained by Bloomberg Businessweek.
Yet as county technicians followed up on the evidence from Smiths poll-tape photo, they discovered more votes that never made it into the election night count, all from precincts with large concentrations of black voters. ... "
Diebold Election Systems changed its name in 2006 to
Premier Election Solutions.
Bloomberg's article titled
How to Protect Against Election Day Hacking gives more proof of this by Memphis computer programmer Bennie Smith.
"... The method Smith used to catch the problem should be a playbook for any candidate, party or concerned citizen worried about the accurate tallying of their votes:Smith snapped some pictures of printed voting tallies (known as poll tapes) at a high-turnout polling location and then compared the results there to the electronic tabulations.
This is a very good, if labor-intensive, way to check to ensure that votes are being counted correctly.
Smith has created a proof-of-concept program called Fraction Magic, showing how corrupt officials could tamper with GEMS to manipulate election outcomes.

Hard to say with out knowing more about the candidates, and what the issues will be.
If the Dems succeed in making their people mad enough at DJT, they might be motivated to come out. I also read yesterday that 3 elections had democrat counties that were ruled invalid due to election fraud-Virginia.
All you can do is try to inform low info voters of the “real” truth of what is going on, since the TV and Radio news is non-stop propaganda/brainwashing.

GOP took three other special elections yesterday...so cheer up snowflake!

More evidence of a blue wave. Is there any way to avoid a Dem takeover at this point? Nonsense. One race. My guess is that this election had a lot more to do with state issues and the two candidates than President Trump.

What was the reason for the loss? Was the Dem turnout unusually high for a special election, or was the Rep turnout exceptionally low?

My nephew was on the School Board in Hatboro PA
GOP controlled for years
This year the Dems ran on an anti Trump agenda ( Yes for the school board)
Dems turned out and the GOP was swept out of power
NOT a good sign
