Republican South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham said Tuesday that he expects President Trump to sign legislation granting a pathway to citizenship for almost 11 million illegal immigrants.
Addressing Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen on Tuesday, Graham said his plan is for Congress to address immigration in two legislative packages, the second of which would include a massive amnesty deal.
Phase one would grant a pathway to citizenship for illegal immigrants brought here as children, who were previously covered under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and would include moderate increases in border security. Phase two of the immigration plan, Graham indicated, would force Trump to sign legislation granting a pathway to full citizenship for almost 11 million more illegal immigrants in exchange for further border security and moving towards a merit-based immigration system.
Graham said Tuesday that he expects Trump to make significant concessions to Democrats in both phase one and phase two of the immigration package.
“So here’s what I would suggest to you. In phase one, to expect my friends on the other side to go comprehensive for us and DACA for them, it’s not going to happen. I’m telling my friends on the other side, DACA and nothing else is not going to happen. The sweet spot is DACA plus more than the DACA kids and making down payments on border security, moving slowly but surely toward a merit-based immigration system, to be followed by phase two,” Graham said.

I could go along with something like this: The “dreamer” citizenship process begins the day the wall is completed. Each can become a citizen after spending as many years legally in the country as they spent illegally, or a minimum of five years from the date the wall is completed. If Juan has been in the country illegally for 15 years when the wall is completed, he can apply for citizenship after keeping his nose clean for an additional 15 years. Every day that the wall is incomplete thus extends the potential date of citizenship by two days.

For me, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. But Trump has to know if he signs any amnesty bill, is base will abandon him in droves.
And as regards the sh**hole statement supposedly said by President Trump, linda needs to get her hearing checked.

When Lindsay signs autographs, he often signs the bigger packages.
They expect Trump to cave in to the latest ‘Racist’ branding by Graham and Durbin, to don sackcloth, baste himself in ashes as a symbol of repentance and give them a ‘Clean DACA bill’.
Ain’t gonna happen.
SC people like him because they recognize him and feel good when going in the polling place knowing there is a candidate that they have heard of before.

Linda and Dicky tried sandbagging the Pres.
After the Tuesday meeting, Linda thought he could pull one over Trump by claiming he had a bipartisan deal which was actually repackaged Scamnasty that Little Dicky Turban signed off on.
They then begged to meet with the Pres. to try to sell it without any input from others. Trump knows both Linda and “Dicky”. So the Pres. Invited Cotton and a couple others that were also at the Tuesday meeting.
He saw what they were attempting to do when he read Their proposal and shut them down. So dicky goes whining to the press.

I concur. No amnesty. If the Dims won’t agree to a wall, merit based immigration with greatly smaller numbers, clampdown on visas, mandatory e-verify, etc., then deport, deport, deport. The existing law allows for that.
While talking to members of Congress, the President said he would sign whatever agreement was presented to him on the issue at hand. Since the President only signs legislation, (not private agreements between Senators) it was obvious he was speaking of completed legislation. He is well aware that his opponents don't have 60 votes in the Senate and a majority in the House so his pledge was just a clever way to put the onus on them. Senators Graham and Durbin in their hubris thought they could speak for the entire Congress and when they were reminded yesterday that they didn't, they got their little feelings hurt and threw a temper tantrum.
