RAMALLAH — Palestinian leaders voted on Monday to call for the suspension of recognition of Israel, as they met in response to US President Donald Trump’s acknowledgement of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The vote ordered the Palestine Liberation Organisation to suspend its recognition of the Jewish state until Israel “recognizes the state of Palestine,” cancels its annexation of East Jerusalem, and stops settlement activity, a statement said.
It was unclear if the vote by the Palestinian Central Council, a high-ranking arm of the PLO, was binding. A previous vote by the council in 2015 to suspend security coordination with Israel was never implemented.
The vote was 74 in favour, two against, with 12 abstentions, according to an AFP journalist present.
On Sunday, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas denounced White House peace efforts as the “slap of the century.”

Since they are not dealing with sane reasoning individuals, I recommend they establish the original borders of their homeland from the scriptures and invite all non Jewish residents to leave. The One State Solution.

OK...you got me...Ive never been to Ramallah, and I only spent a week in Port au Prince in the 70’s......but Ive seen recent pictures of both. You are right though, as they got lazy and Ramallah’s got crazy and lazy.
No. Old Towelhead Arafat promised a meeting where the PLO would discuss amending their charter to allow the recognition of Israel, and as far as I know, all they did was talk; no voting on the matter. Therefore I don’t see the point in “unrecognizing” Israel. It’s like promising to quit smoking when you never started the habit.
When the Israelis got out of the Gaza Strip, they left behind the greenhouses so the Palestinians could grow vegetables and flowers and make some money selling them. Instead, the Palestinians hate the Israelis so much that they destroyed the greenhouses.
