Shaking my head at this beta-male quote from the article:
"I have nothing to hide. I understand that somebody had someone living in the garage. I dont, said Shelly Ia. I am following the rules. All I am asking is a reasonable way of going around this. If you want to do a monthly, bi-monthly inspection of my garage, I have nothing to hide. If I have something stored in there and you dont like it, Ill remove it."
Breaking and entering arrests will go down! /S
I hate HOA’s. Bunch of busybodies with time on their hands.
So I suppose the HOA is going to provide security to insure that it’s not “easy pickings” for thieves to help themselves from open garages in that neighborhood?
Insane,Everything will be stolen in 2 days.
This HOA sounds like a bunch of democrats.

I agree. But they are getting harder and harder to avoid.
And if you have tools in your garage, you get to expose them every day so thieves can have their pick? Or they can just come right into the house and take your TV? Or your cat gets to roam the neighborhood after it uses the catbox?
Great idea. We just had a homeowner revolt in our neighborhood and unseated 3/5 of the HOA board. Might be time for these folks to do the same.
Please don’t give my retarded New Jersey town any new ideas. They already banned the use of “pods” or storage containers because they are afraid Jews might live or pray in them.
HOA can be a Mini Police State. The member having someone living in their garage should pay, not the members in general.
Heh, me too. How about, "My garage is my business, and if you don't like it, KMA."
I don't think that I'd fit in well with that neighborhood. "No HOA" was a requirement, when I bought my house.
thats true. I hope when we move we can find a non HOA neighborhood.
.....as long as the members of the HOA
reimburse the home owner for ANYTHING that is stolen or missing....PLUS serve prison time.
Never, never, never buy a home in an HOA community.
"...open garage doors..."
I wonder what happens when a neighborhood goes HOA.
Are homeowners grandfathered in if they don’t want to genuflect to the overlords?
Some Towns and their zoning departments are worse then most HOAs, I own a home in a NJ town and a home in a PA HOA, the NJ Town has way more rules, regulations, fines, more inspectors/code enforcers then my HOA in PA.
Ironic my town is under federal investigation for civil rights violations, but Sessions is doing squat to put Hillary in prison... Priorities I guess
Instant lawsuit.
Some towns ban the use of PODS — or at least heavily restrict them — because they detract from the appearance of the neighborhood. They’re no different than having a tractor-trailer parked in front of your house for days and weeks on end.
