Trump book author says his revelations will bring down U.S. president

LONDON (Reuters) - The author of a book that is highly critical of Donald Trump’s first year as U.S. president said his revelations were likely to bring an end to Trump’s time in the White House.

Michael Wolff told BBC radio that his conclusion in “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House”-- that Trump is not fit to do the job -- was becoming a widespread view.

“I think one of the interesting effects of the book so far is a very clear emperor-has-no-clothes effect,” Wolff said in an interview broadcast on Saturday.

“The story that I have told seems to present this presidency in such a way that it says he can’t do his job,” Wolff said.

“Suddenly everywhere people are going ‘oh my God, it’s true, he has no clothes’. That’s the background to the perception and the understanding that will finally end ... this presidency.”

Trump has dismissed the book as full of lies. It depicts a chaotic White House, a president who was ill-prepared to win the office in 2016, and Trump aides who scorned his abilities.

“Is this anything like the liberal wet dream about the movie, The Assassination of George W. Bush?”

You can bet your last dollar that this book will appear on a screen near you, too.

“He better be careful. It might bring down the United States.”

If it got to that point he’d end up as a tree ornament.

What a disgusting worm this Wolff guy is.

His collaborators as well.

Bannon, Preibus and the others can claim they were misquoted, but not that they never went and talked to the guy.

In 1972, Newsweek film critic Pauline Kael was widely quoted: “I don’t see how Nixon could have won. Just everyone I knew in Manhattan and the West Coast voted for McGovern.” Wolfe has as much chance of seeing our candidate deposed as Miss Kael had of seeing McGovern defeat Nixon and they live in the same publishing/Hollywood/academia world of fantasy and denial.

Bannon can’t sue Wolff for defamation at the same time Breitbart is hyping the most anti-Trump parts of the book. Bannon’s having a field day promoting Wolff. It’s grotesque.

I’m concerned about the possible rise in anti-Semitism which might result from a mistaken impression among certain
citizens that prominent people with Jewish-sounding names are publicly attacking Trump. This would be regrettable if it occurs.

“The only person that can bring down Trump is Trump.”

Only by a flagrant betrayed of his base and his own agenda. He has shown no signs of that.

“I didn’t realize that any FReepers didn’t know it was a parody.”

Yeah, I never even heard of it until yesterday but the passage itself makes it clear that it’s just someone’s silly joke. The clincher is when it says that Trump kneels in front of the TV and yells at the gorillas.

Thanks for that information.

‘Bannon had a lengthy window to respond after the book excerpt was first released early Wednesday morning. It was a missed opportunity for Bannon, as the statement might have been enough to salvage his relationship with the president, those close to the Breitbart News chairman say.’

Let me make sure I understand this correctly? This buttmunch author admitted that he doesn’t know if anything in the book is true but he expects people to believe it? That is kind of funny.

As an Old S-3, your comment about the OODA Loop and the 36 strategies is spot on.

All of Trump’s tweets are premeditated. Even the outlandish ones. He has the liberals reacting and rattled, failing about for anything from their alternative reality that they can make stick.

I believe that the average American is seeing the results of Trump’s actions, and the alternative realities being spewed by the media and liberal establishment is not being believed.

I can’t wait until the liberals start berating the average working class Americans for their greed at accepting larger paychecks, when the welfare class isn’t getting “their fair share”.

All I know is I, along with millions of others, voted for and admire Donald Trump, not Steve Bannon. Steve needs to realize that. The guy was actually thinking about running for President himself before all this happened.

I’m not talking about secession (which is not really a civil war), but the real thing, as what happened in the Balkans in the 1990s.

Peaceful secession saves lives and treasure.
