I’m not talking about secession (which is not really a civil war), but the real thing, as what happened in the Balkans in the 1990s.

Peaceful secession saves lives and treasure.

So the USA is set up to dissolve peacefully into 50 counties. So I think a Balkan style war is not in the cards.
