Hours before NFL players across the league took a knee during the national anthem in defiance of President Trump on Sunday, one World War II veteran hosted a protest of his own — in his backyard.
"These people have every right to protest," John Middlemas, a 97-year-old farmer from Springfield, Missouri, told his grandson, Brennan Gilmore, before kneeling.

More than a handful of fools that have worn the uniform that are anything but honorable.
As an example, just try listening to a medical malpractice trial. You can always buy an “expert” to say absolutely anything you want them to, and make it sound oh so believable.
Don't you just love their “expert” psychiatrist who says that PDJT is crazy? They plaster that all over the news. Where were they when all kinds of psychiatrists said that BO was mentally ill? Not to be seen on the MSM’s news coverage, nary a word, like it never existed at all.
It just goes to show that even old vets can be stupid, just like everybody else.
When I was in the Army, we were occassionally tasked with performing funerals for men just like this. The ceremony is punctuated with handing a flag to the widow or other survivor...a symbol of their deceased loved one. The same flag these morons are protesting against.
He's right. They do have a legal right to protest. In return, we have a right to think they are ungrateful, offensive spoiled brats and to boycott the NFL and their sponsors. No one is claiming the thugs and losers don't have a right to protest. We are simply saying that the exercise of those rights can and often will have consequences.
BOTH of my parents were WWII Veterans and I can assure you that "they would not approve of this message!"
And they expect us to vote for them. RIGHT.
