Without the context of traffic and road conditions, does not mean much. Other than to Priaps drivers and other fart sniffers afraid to even approach the speed limit.
Every so often, there is a sanctioned event in south Texas called: “The Texas Mile”. I believe the next one is scheduled for March 23rd thru the 25th and held in Victoria, TX at the airport there. I may go to it....just to watch a little bit.
It’s amazing just how fast some of these cars, and motorcycles, really are once they’re turned loose where they can really be opened up without fear of the law.
Ping.
206 MPH was executed by a twin turboed mustang.I remember that.I bet the driver still hasnt seen the light of day since. That was under the jail speeding.
You haven’t truly lived life if you haven’t experienced a 130 mph ride at least once.
125+ 1973 Monte Carlo, 454. When the driver’s front came apart, my buddy was white as a ghost. Took a bit to get pulled over and not hit the center divider. It had a LOT more, but I never got there. Mom wasn’t happy about the destroyed fender and fender wall. I’ve never told her what really happened.
1966: 140 in my mother’s 1966 GTO convertible with Powerglide on Route 422 in Eagleville, Montgomery County, PA.
1986: 135 in my Porsche 1976 Porsche 2.0 on Interstate 83 southbound, Sparks, Baltimore County, Maryland.
Since the car is a hybrid, the computer is better at optimizing the battery power to apply just the right amount of force for the speed and grade than my heavy foot would be.
It's so good that I even do this on local surface streets.
