To: texas booster

1966: 140 in my mother’s 1966 GTO convertible with Powerglide on Route 422 in Eagleville, Montgomery County, PA.

1986: 135 in my Porsche 1976 Porsche 2.0 on Interstate 83 southbound, Sparks, Baltimore County, Maryland.

1981: ~105 1971 Dodge Charger—desert backroads California scary as hell
1982: ~120 1976 Ford F-350–Deserted highway California outran a CHP (pre-radar)
1980s: Ran a ton of musclecars and various rods over 100 in the 1/4 mi, but that was a different era
1989: 130+ Mercedes Sedan—Autobahn smooth as glass

Don’t get much over 90 these days. Nicer cars, but worse roads and traffic here in Florida. My son-in-law just bought an Audi R8, but I don’t really care for it: it’s a technological marvel, but not near as much fun on the road. May take it out on the track someday where we can really open it up.
