President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that "he not only lost his job" but also "lost his mind" when he left the White House.
On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."
This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

Good post. Bannon should know going against Trump isnt going to help trump or his agenda or the USA or even himself. He must be a bright selfish idiot who will not benefit from this move. He just looks thin skinned.
As much as I like Trump he does have his faults and one is forgetting who brung him to the dance..This is not the first time he has done this and tossed away people that helped him...Its a character flaw in my opinion...Bannon saved his butt and he knows it...I am not a fan of Trump having his kids as advisers..another fowl up in my opinion...
“Other people are putting words in Bannons mouth”
And yet not a word from Bannon saying they are lies? Can you explain that????
LOL! You are right!
Lol, only lefty feminists should have their vote repealed.
I do apologize, I was in a hurry this afternoon and didnt address your question. I wasnt suggesting that you had an inherent dislike for Bannon, rather it was noticing that you post frequently from treehouse who I know for a fact does not like the guy. It was erroneous association on my part, my apology.
Hey, I was posting when it look more like rumor. I see now at this late hour that President Trump did in fact respond. Go easy on me, my car is totaled and my 105 pound body is sore. Trying to figure out my next step.
This is the sad but expected result of being subjected to our horrid media for decades. Thanks
No, thank YOU, it was your thoughtful post that made sense of what seems to be occurring here. Ive talked privately to a few that I trust here because it just seems so off.
Yes FRiend, that is true. I miss Black Elk, for one. In the game personally for years, he is an irreplaceable force for good politics though this is another era fraught with bitter play and borrowed time. Thank God for Trump.
Is Bannon a part of this, this time? Who knows? It probably doesn't matter one way or the other.
Bannon didnt cost anyone anything. Moore lost the seat on his own. He was a lousy candidate replete with one line broken record overused cliches. His interview denying what his accusers brought forward was awful.
Exactly.
Feel better!
I never did think Bannon was OK and I’m on record here on FR waaaay back saying so.
The guy is a nut job.
Agreed. He has not denied saying it. Very telling. Bannon loves the media spotlight...and his mouth got him in trouble.
Agreed - this book and recent reporting is like the elites and MSM is deliberately pretending things aren't what we know them to be - creating a make believe reality - there is something very disconnected about it all.
Here is howI know its trash as I told my friend just today when he brought that up (Trump not really wanting to win, Ivanka, Bannon etc) ... "then how did I little me, know and say so ad nausema (here on FR) and in real life from September of 2015 to election day that Trump was going to win?" I said "No, really how is it that I was able to tell you the whole campaign what and why candidate Trump was doing while he was doing it? Why I'll tell you", I said -" because I'm a Russian spy". "That's ridiculous" he replied - "yeah just like the rest of all this anti Trump rubbish".
I tell you DoughtyOne otherwise decent halfway smart people are living with eyes wide shut, president Trump is literally driving people crazy and there is enough of them where I live that its creating a mass delusion.
On the upside nobody want to talk to me about politics anymore - they think I've got mad political prognostication skills - truth is cromnibus pissed me off and I got lucky - just like a good portion of America.
Go President Trump Go!
Ooooooof.
I know how you feel. Look, I was so convinced Trump would win, I put $250 dollars or so towards it on predict it dot com.
At 18:00 PDT, Trump was still pegged by a 92 to 8% margin to lose. I picked up a cool $1,000 bucks for it.
It was great taking the Lefitst’s money.
They had been shooting their mouths off for months belittling anyone who had picked Trump to win.
I didn’t say a word. At the end of the day every one of them had lost every cent they had invested.
How could it get any better, Trump wins, I take Leftist’s money, and they go home losing every cent.
Mama mia, what a night...
I’ll never forget it.
If Trump really said Bannon was responsible for Moore losing hes delusional. Moore lost due to massive voter fraud and having no help from McConnell and the RINOs. Trump refuses to admit it, but hes also not as popular in Alabama as he was when he was elected. Exit polls showed he has a 47% favorable rating in the state and I believe it. If Trump was still in the high 70s in the state you can bet your bottom dollar that he would have delivered Alabama to Moore.
Moore lost because he was a terrible candidate and Bannon was backing him to get the nomination - he was the only candidate who would have had any chance of losing and he did. He was the worst candidate to nominate as far as electability. A Republican losing a race in Alabama is no small accomplishment. President Trump is not delusional about this - he is absolutely spot on. Moore, like Bannon, was all about himself and vanity politics - not any particular good agenda.
“Exit polls showed he has a 47% favorable rating in the state and I believe it.” It was probably was correct for that electorate. 90% of the Democrats who had voted in 2016 showed up and only 50% of the Republicans showed up - they were not inspired by a candidate like Roy Moore to show up and vote. The fact Trump would have a 47% favorable rating among the electorate sounds about right - it was heavily Democrat. Again, no small accomplishment for Bannon and Moore - to get an electorate in Alabama that is mostly leftist to show up the polls and the Republicans uninspired and staying home the point the much smaller pool of Dem voters could overtake them.
