President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that "he not only lost his job" but also "lost his mind" when he left the White House.
On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."
This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

He always looks like that.
I realize you post alot from the conservative tree house, and I go there to read some of their stuff as well, but it’s a known fact that they dislike Bannon. Just saying
________
Yes.......... somehow I think D.T. will come out all of this hubbub smelling like a rose.
Now..... I gotta go make a nice dinner.
Bingo!
Sad, Fox has gotten so many things wrong as well.
I’m off - I’ll be checking on this weird bs story later.
Good luck finding the truth -
However, I am sure McConnell saw it as a win - win situation.
He was on the campaign for only a brief time. Same for the administration. Basically, a short-timer.
Thanks Jane.
There are some conflicting concepts going on here, and I’m still not convinced we know fully what is going on.
I read what FoxNews is passing off as Trump’s statement. Hey, it may be accurate.
We’ve got two decent people here who share the same beliefs seemingly going after each other, if the story line holds.
We’ll see how it plays out.
How did Bannon jeopardize a seat? The people of the Alabama GOP voted for Roy Moore in the primary. Steve Bannon was for Mo Brooks in the primary. He was helping Moore out. Is that jeopardizing by trying to help him win?
Unless, of course, Bannon and Trump appear together at the White House in a couple days, laughing and shaking hands at how they trolled the media. :-)
Both Trump and Bannon are flawed. Boomers need to stop making politics about personalities and hero worship.
You definitely need to get up to speed.
One thing that isn’t contrived is Bannon’s dislike of Kushner , and he’s been very vocal about it .. so how long is Trump going to stand by and allow Bannon to criticize his own son-in-law ? I’m surprised that Trump has tolerated it as long as he has, but he is part of Trump’s family, so eventually this would come to a head . I am no fan of Kushner by any means , but i’m trying to put this in perspective
He was good enough to help direct the TRUMP campaign and focus it. And he’s a man who served his country and is a vet. I have nothing against him at all.
He hasn’t ? Really ?
Full text of today’s official WH statement on Bannon has been published by all the news organizations now, including Breitbart and Fox. Says Sarah Huckabee Sanders handed out the statement before a press conference today.

True. Also, from reading articles and books about behind the scenes at during the campaign Kushner was actually one of the main players in getting focus on the rust belt etc.
Didn’t I just read earlier that Wolff claimed another Trump confidant told him Trump was “crazy,” and the confidant totally repudiated the claim, alleging Wolff had simply made this up?
Could this Bannon thing be similar?
.... Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was. It is the only thing he does well. Steve was rarely in a one-on-one meeting with me and only pretends to have had influence to fool a few people with no access and no clue, whom he helped write phony books.....
OUCH!!
Didn’t Kushner find that tech whiz who 60 minutes ran a piece on; the one who helped direct the campaign into the upper midwest?
