Mickey Mouse. Nick Saban. Any Other Republican.

Those were some of names that got write-in votes in the Alabama Senate election as voters suggested their own alternatives to Sen.-elect Doug Jones and Republican Roy Moore in the Alabama Senate race.

An unusually high number of voters — 22,852 people, or 1.6 percent of the 1.3 million people who went to the polls — opted for a write-in candidates, sometimes showing their humor and frustration along the way. “Anyone Else,” “Neither,” and “Any Other Republican” were among the written submissions.

Many of the submission were more serious as some voters followed the lead of Sen. Richard Shelby, who said he could not vote for Moore and was instead writing in the name of another Republican. …

first of all, I’m not trashing anyone. I’m simply holding him responsible (as should we all) for an egregious mistake which could cripple the trump agenda as we head into the midterms. this one mistake could cripple DJTs attempt to expand his majority in the senate in 2018, and THAT could jeopardize his reelection.

you need to quit the hero worship bullsnit. you’ve lost focus on what’s actually important.

we don’t know that it’s anywhere in mobile (or Alabama, for that matter), we don’t know what day it is, and we don’t even know if they are picking up or dropping off.

it’s video of a sh*t load of busses.

Hey dipstick I want Bannon and his Breitbart cadre to know that we got his back. Babe Ruth didn't hit a home run every time at bat. Balless little bat boys like you should keep their traps shut.

Go Steve, hit 'em again harder!

indeed, looks like a bunch of busses. there are landmarks that could be identified. one bus has a destination/identification on its front banner that I wasn’t able to make out, but would be unlikely at all if it was some clandestine attempt to bus in thousands of doppelgängers. there is a street sign that could be identified with the right skills and software, neither of which I possess.

but this certainly isn’t evidence of anything.

I’m sorry you’re getting so upset. the problem is that he’s “hitting” the wrong people right now. he’s a loose cannon on the deck, and he’s currently getting democrats elected. this is an indisputable artifact of reality, and it should really, really, really matter to you.

by the way, steve bannon doesn’t know, nor does he care, that you exist. so, I’m confident that your cheerleading is for your own sake.

Does re-electing RINO establishment further the Trump agenda? NO!. If anything the last year proves that it does not. Only a moron or an globalist Establishment hack would want to re-elect any of these Republicans Senators!. They need to be primaried out of existence!

Go Steve go! Thankfully very few Freepers are as stupid as you are politically. No more RINOS. Stay home if the choice is between a RINO and a Democrat.

you aren’t really disagreeing with me as much as you are fighting mad with president trump. he endorsed the other guy. that seems to be the weed that’s in your tailpipe.

but stay with hysteria and screaming half-understood buzzwords (globalist!! RINO!! establishment!!). you seem to need it simple and loud for some reason.

but I won’t let you avoid the fact that you are/were in open opposition to trump’s clearly stated position - at least in Alabama. you are fighting against the trump agenda as he himself stated it.

period.

In retrospect, your average Freeper here on this website had more passion and energy for Roy Moore's campaign than Roy Moore did.

That makes him either a loser or a fraud. I'll leave that up to you.

If voting for a candidate to stop the butchering of babies was of such paramount importance for the voters of Alabama, then I'd sure like to be there when God asks Roy Moore why the hell he traveled to Philadelphia to watch a stupid football game on the weekend before the biggest election of his political career back in Alabama. Maybe all those people in Alabama who wrote in "Mickey Mouse" on their ballots were tired of supporting political candidates who talk like Christians but reveal their true character by acting like pagans at the worst moments.

“However, he wasn’t out there touting it. He was hiding.”

True enough. he should have been in their faces. I know I would have been.

Not a bad choice given the alternatives.

Perhaps Roy Moore traveled to Philadelphia because he had earlier promised to do so and wanted to keep a promise. I guess that would be too “pagan” for the sanctimonious “Christians” in Alabama, huh?

You still don’t get it. You can call Roy Moore “loser or fraud” all you want, but that’s just another way of saying he’s not “cool” enough for you - and babies are only worth saving if it’s a “cool person” doing it.

And that’s just plain sick. It indicates a spiritual problem. God spoke through an ass, and Jesus said that if His followers were quiet even the very rocks would cry out. If God sees fit to use rocks and asses to do His work, who are you to choose a baby butcher to decide SCOTUS confirmations because the guy who wants to protect babies isn’t “cool enough” for you?

I don’t care who you do or don’t vote for, but the attitudes I see here are way out of line for Christians and Constitutionalists in this day of full-on war against both Christ and the Constitution. What I’m concerned about is the minds and souls of people who rationalize their own choices on the basis of somebody else not being “cool” enough for them.

Where are all the women who accused Roy Moore? Somehow they seem to have slipped back into the shadows. I hope he sues the one who forged part (which makes it all a forgery) of the yearbook message.

Why are you acting as if I voted for Doug Jones? I don’t live in Alabama, and I’ve said here many times that I would have crawled over broken glass to vote for Moore if I did live there. But I also would feel completely betrayed by him right now because of the way he mailed it in at the end of his campaign instead of running like a serious candidate. See what Jesus said about the “lukewarm” among His followers.

The voters can feel whatever they want. When their own feelings are more important than saving lives, they have a serious problem that has nothing to do with “politics”.

I certainly hope Steve Bannon learned something in Alabama.

I hope Donald Trump learned something in Alabama.

Mitch McConnell and Richard Shelby (and others) stabbed Roy Moore in the back.

Donald Trump was complicit in this virtual assassination.

That shitbird Jones that they supported sure will Make America Great Again.

Plus, Richard Shelby went on a talk show the Sunday before the election and gave a sound bite that the Jones campaign then used the next day in a robocall to make it seem like Shelby was telling R voters to write in a candidate.

Why should Moore have thought that a call from that weasel would matter more to AL voters than a genuine robocall from Trump specifically saying that he needed Roy Moore in the Senate?

Even for people just “playing politics” as if there was no morality to the need to save babies, they were political turncoats to vote so enthusiastically for Trump one year and the next year flip him the bird after he signaled his urgent need for their help, in order to do what they elected him to do.

I have lost any respect I had for Alabama, though I pity the honest, earnest people there who were screwed by the turncoat baby killers.

IF they were all people that wanted to vote for Moore but didn’t because of the allegations, then that’s enough to swing the election.

Trump faced virtually the same allegations that Moore did, even to the point of Gloria Allred's daughter, attorney Lisa Bloom, fielding charges that Trump raped a 13-year old girl. Yet, Donald Trump still managed to earn 1.3 million votes in Alabama.

Alabamans just didn't like Roy Moore. They didn't like him the two times he ran for Governor and was thoroughly trounced and even in 2012 when he was elected judge, he barely squeaked past the finish line receiving 400,000 fewer votes than Mitt Romney.

Trump doesn't back losers and he knew from the beginning that Roy Moore was a loser.

I have been saying this since before the inauguration: Pres. Trump needs to push for some sort of voter ID. After the Supreme Court judge nomination, I think voter ID should have been the next thing out of the box.

Alabama requires a state-issued ID to vote. You do realize the state canvassing board in Alabama are all conservative Republicans?

What additional voter ID law does Alabama need?

At some point we need to stop running lousy candidates who can't win at the state level and then blaming their electoral losses on voter fraud. It's unbecoming.
