Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) is still acting like a thorn in President Trump's side - even on Christmas weekend. Speaking to ABC's "This Week," Flake condemned the president's rallies as bastions of resentment.
"When you look at some of the audiences cheering for Republicans, sometimes, you look out there and you say, 'those are the spasms of a dying party,' " Flake said on ABC's "This Week."
"When you look at the lack of diversity, sometimes, and it depends on where you are, obviously, but by and large, we're appealing to older white men and there are just a limited number of them, and anger and resentment are not a governing philosophy," he continued. (The Hill)
The hostility between Flake and Trump started when we learned of Flake's "secret" book, "Conscience of a Conservative: A Rejection of Destructive Politics and a Return to Principle," in which he trashed Trump's agenda. The 45th president had a major hand in "compromising" the Republican Party's morals, the politician/author suggested. After the discovery, Trump mocked the senator at a rally in Phoenix.
Since then, Flake has continued to distance himself from the president, most recently refusing to support Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore in the special election race to replace Jeff Sessions. Moore denied the sexual assault allegations against him heading into Election Day, but the whole scandal encouraged Democrats to head to the polls in droves and elect Doug Jones, the first Democrat to a Senate seat in Alabama for 25 years. Many top Republicans urged Moore to drop out of the race, but Flake was so opposed to Moore's candidacy that he went so far as to donate to Jones's campaign.
Even with Moore's defeat, he will continue to be a "stain" on the GOP, Flake said Sunday.
He was happy to show his followers that he received a "Decency Wins" mug from a fan this weekend for his rebellion against the president. He tweeted those same two words on December 12, the day Moore lost.

People are very happy at Trump rallies.
Flake isn’t capable of grasping why.

The Flake is as big a threat to President Trump as Jim Gilmore was. With no other opposition, Flake could get twice as many votes as Governor Gilmore did.
I’ve never been to a Trump rally, but the ones I’ve seen on TV appear to be mostly populated by happy, smiling people. On the other hand, the anti-Trump rallies always seem to be characterized by rage and hate. Flake seems to be living in an alternate universe. I guess when you live for positive press clippings, you’ll say anything, no matter how demonstrably false it is.
Sometimes, anger and resentment are justfied.
From a guy who is full of nothing to offer, this is pretty funny.

We are angry that our government is out of effing control!
We resent the fact that people like Flake think they know what is best for us, instead of LISTENING TO US!
We are angry that we are seeing our freedoms and rights slowly dwindling!
We resent the fact that our last President couldn’t find a single good thing to say about the U.S.A on everyone of his foreign trips!
We are angry that so many people are asleep or so self-absorbed that they would elect our last, useless, hateful, America-hating President - TWICE!
We resent when people like Flake think we are too stupid to know that both the Dems and the GOPe are the uniparty, working to screw every American, until we MUST fold or have another Civil War or Revolution!
And mostly we are angry because all these “leaders” are pushing us closer and closer to that Civil War or Revolution of which I spoke earlier!!
Yes, There are spasms at a Trump Rallies—They are the birth pains of a new political party. They are expressions of Love—not hate.

All the Trump rallies I saw were filled with positive energy, even laughter. Flake is delusional. Or so bitter that he resorts to lied. Something is mentally off about him.
