My favorite recorded version of this famous Christmas carol
Silent Night--Paul Whiteman & His Orchestra (1928)

Hi Everybody!
I have a very busy weekend coming up.
Lots of relatives to visit!
But that’s what happens when you live near family! :-)
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas to you, too, and all of the lovely, Canteen divas! ;-)

Cool! Glad the weather won’t mess up her travel plans. Can’t blame her a bit for hating driving in snow.
Bet you’re pumped to see her again! It’s been a little while.
Went to visit Clara this afternoon and now waiting to see if we’ll get any rain that the rest of TN has been getting today. They say we’ll start getting it later tonight.

CHARPENTIER: MIDNIGHT MASS FOR CHRISTMASThis performance is totally different from the familiar version recorded in 1967 by David Willcocks. This recent recording not only uses period instruments and period vocal techniques, but Marc Minkowski and his Musicians of the Louvre pull the piece out of the early Baroque and move it back to the late Renaissance, which is probably where it belongs. For those familiar with the 1967 recording, this is the shock of the new.

Yeah, she has the stories but they’re stuck inside her age-addled brain. Every now and then one pops to the forefront and she can talk about it.
We’ll get some rain sometime tonight into tomorrow. It was just weird to see the southern edge of the swath scooting across so close to us and we didn’t get anything. Just a dreary day.

For the first time in 20 years, I'm spending Christmas with someone. My boss and his wife asked me over for Christmas dinner.
I'm posting my annual "Messiah" tomorrow night.

Thank you! I think it will be sort of like yours...someone missing from the table and from the time together.
My son and his family are enjoying a white Christmas and loving it, I’m sure!

The Boss is currently in San Antonio with her son who is in the hospital. I do not expect her to return until maybe the New Year but I shall tell her on the telephone.
