Congratulations and a big thank you to @SpeakerRyan, @SenateMajLdr and the Republican leaders who led the charge on tax reform. With the President's signature, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act will jump start economic growth and provided needed relief for American families.

I agree. And the warm way the top people in Congress interacted with Trump on the White House lawn seemed out of context with the “war” going on with the GOP establishment.
To me, it proves that a lot of rhetoric was just that. Trump has been forging great relationships with Congress. Many — not all — the open arguments that have been publicized were media hype and manufactured theater to move the bigger agenda that just passed.
Steve Bannon on the war path in recent months was also key. Bannon is the Voldemort whose name must not be uttered, and yet he also did a great job of arm twisting the GOPe to back the MAGA agenda.

I understand the sentiment but Reagan needed to unify his own party first before beating Carter and taking GHWB as his Veep may have won him the 1980 election rather than watching the GOPe sabotage him the way they later tried to sabotage Trump.
Under Reagan, we had eight sterling years although the first three were just climbing out of the recession that Carter left him. Think Putin is a menace? Try Breznev and Gorbachev. And what could Reagan do after those eight years but to hand the baton to his veep?
I understand your point about how weak GHWB was but understand we might have never had eight years of Reagan if the GOPe was undermining him like they undermine Trump.

I also agree with those saying Trump is better than Reagan but temper that with simply waiting to see how his first term plays out and hoping he gets a second one at this point. If Trump can accomplish all the great things he has in this first year when he had the MSM, GOPe, and dems working against him; I can only imagine his second year as he brings more republicans into his way of thinking.
There is another Bush in Texas, the land commissioner. He is now “re-purposing” the Alamo along with the commie mayor of San Antonio. They want to turn the focus of history on the Spanish mission it was. Erase history.

They are moving the Cenotaph to Travis park, where it won’t remind passersby of the courage of the defenders.

You are so right. When we discuss the hatred for Trump at home, I tell DH it’s all about jealousy. It’s not unique to women (as some believe). The vile RINOs who are out to get PRESIDENT Trump are marinated iN raw jealousy.
