In a shocking political earthquake, the Republican Party has lost a Senate election in Alabama. For perspective on how difficult that feat was, the closest previous Senate contest in that state over the last two decades was a...19-point GOP victory. Just three years ago, Jeff Sessions ran unopposed. Donald Trump carried 'Bama by 28 points last fall. In my election preview post yesterday, I wrote that an upset by liberal Doug Jones was improbably plausible, due exclusively to the disastrously awful candidate Republicans had nominated. Apologies for quoting myself, but here you go:

What you are failing to see is all those women were discredited and the only evidence was FAKE. A POOR INTERVIEW DOES NOT MAKE HIM GUILTY OF ANYTHING!!!
A lot of shenanigans when on in Alabama for this to happen and it come from both parties, local and national medias, the entertainment industry, and many times more money spent against Judge Moore. It boils down to a deep state psy-ops being run on Alabama and many people there fell for it.
Trust me, this happened to my good conservative rep here in my state who went up against the establishment in the District of Commies. They backed a swamper and way outspent my rep with outsider money. They weaponized the local medias against him and they were able to take him out. John Boehner raised a toast to his defeat because my rep dared to challenge Boehner and the District of Commies.
I knew exactly what they were up to in my state and I saw the same thing in your state. You need to wake up to what we are really facing in the DC swamp! Being deceived by this whole apparatus helped them put another commie back in DC. We’ll never be able to restore our Constitutional Republic if Americans don’t wake up to to the evil we are really facing!

Wow, and thanks for the info. Now we know why they held back those urban areas to report at the end.

Best post on this topic, well done DoughtyOne.
My ire is focused on mc connell, the biggest pos/rat/lying/lame/fraud/sh** for brains/American hater/Trump hater that has power that should be stripped immediately. I detest the sight of him, his voice, his illogical hatred and his never ending backstabbing power plays. Arrrggggg
Roy Moore Voter Fraud
Thanks for the link.
Amen!
Lots of folks rationalizing that their failure to donate to Moore’s campaign had nothing to do with the outcome.....the Left went all-in and the GOPe/RINOs stayed out of it until too late and did too little 9tokens so they could claim they did something) and the People who wanted Moore decided someone else could donate. On stat had Moore being outspent 14:1 for a period.
Lets just call this thread what it is.
Its the GOPe thread.
Of course the GOPe wants us to think Moore was a poor candidate. They dont want to admit to what they did to defeat him.
Despite nearly entity against him, Roy More only lost by 1.5%.
Thats amazing.
Terrible candidate? LMAO
Sure GOPe the mush for brains folks may buy it, but people who have a brain know what you did and didnt do in this election.
Roy Moore and Conservatism deserved better!
“Lets just call this thread what it is.
Its the GOPe thread.”
No it is not.
I agree with you on many of your points. Other people have different opinions. That is what makes for intelligent discussion.
My personal opinion is that the Republicans lost on purpose.
Jones did not win the election. The Republicans said over and over that they wanted Moore to lose. Senator Shelby said he could not vote for Moore and that Moore was unfit to serve in the Senate. Shelby said he was relieved Moore lost.
There may have also been voter fraud involved.
The Republicans lost this election on purpose: True
The Republicans want to sell the idea it was Moores fault: True
Many on this thread are perfectly happy to buy in: True
GOPe supporting thread, buying into the meme.
This wasnt a slam on you.
He was a terrible candidate. It’s possible for someone to be a good man and an awful political candidate. And before anyone accuses me of being a GOPe shill, keep in mind that I would have voted for Roy Moore even if every allegation against him was TRUE.
Alberta’s Child, you can’t expect man on a team to win when his team not only bails on him, but joins the other side to defeat him.
No man is perfect. Moore isn’t perfect.
For him to have come this close with almost no support, was an amazing feat.
It crushes any claim he was a bad candidate, or the wrong candidate.
He lost by about 21,500 votes.
A Republican supported write-in started less than two weeks before the election garnered over 20,000 votes.
There was obviously no get out the vote effort by Republicans in-state or from the RNC.
Moore was not just abandoned, he was fought against by people who should have been supporting Conservatism by supporting him.
Despite all this, folks come on this forum to trash Moore for being the wrong candidate, a bad candidate, the worst candidate ever.
Who’s purpose does that serve? It’s the GOPe’s, who wants folks to forget about their complicity in his defeat.
That’s just a simple obvious fact.
Sadly, some FReepers are more than happy to board that effort,... doing the GOPe’s bidding.
Now, back to bashing Moore for losing this election all on his own. Sheesh!
I hate to be the one to bring you the bad news, but even in a deep "red" state like Alabama I'd be surprised if these people constitute more than 30% of the voters.
2. Did Roy Moore ever give you a sense of comfort that he was even capable of doing a job representing Alabama in the U.S. Senate? I don't mean if his politics were right; I'm talking about his competence to serve in a legislative body for the first time in his life at the age of 70.
You are absolutely correct.
That is precisely accurate.Conservatives cannot obtain political control.
Conservatives lack the raw political power to impose purity
Hillary Clinton got more votes than Donald Trump last year even though she may have been the worst candidate ever to run for public office. If she had been a man, she would have gotten Jeb Bush-like numbers in the Democrat primaries.
Mitch, is this you?
You are one clueless person with all the evidence in to reveal all who fought against Moore.
It’s breathtaking the ignorance your posts on this topic contain.
