Donald J. Trump Verified account @realDonaldTrump Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!
We all know that , but watch and see what happens ... this loss is all the fault of McConnell and Bannon ... they need to have a talk and focus on keeping Repub majorities NOW !
He’s in through 2020. There are no senate elections in 2019.
Republicans should try to get Jones to vote with them, join their caucus and eventually switch parties. Jones will be gone in 2 years if he gets too close to Chuck Schumer
Ha! Fat chance. Schumer will have a sit down heart to heart with him tomorrow. If he even thinks of budging from the Democrat line his ass will be hauled back in line. Democrats do not tolerate Mavericks from anywhere. Its the party line or Arkancide, take your pick. Youre in the Swamp now, buddy, you will do what I tell you.
Trump is now truly alone...if he wasnt before. Hes going to have to do it without Congress - he is wiser to do what he can without them at all - until it changes.
Shelby is the real snake here. Sandbagged Moore on the weekend.
That’s their problem if they don’t believe the president’s words are classy, or if they wish to blame the president for what happened in Alabama.
At the end of the day, Alabama’s voters (what few bothered to show up) chose a new senator who has a 3 year term and represents a very conservative state. Jones can choose to toe the liberal line, or Jones can choose to be reelected; either way, 3 years is a pretty short term and the seat comes live again in the presidential election year.
Liberals aren’t going to throw away the seat; welcome to the newest blue dog Democrat who’ll annoy the hell out of the NuttRoots.
That is the only way one can used "Øbama" and "class" in the same sentence.
I hope you’re right.
Many here are saying that the Dems will pull the last-minute sexual allegations trick in every single race and sweep the 2018 elections with that tactic alone.
Hopefully, voters are going to start wising up.
As things stand, from here on out, I have gone from a sexual harassment skeptic to a sexual harassment denier.
No more “it’s not the evidence but the seriousness of the charge.”
Women, accept the fact that there are some things that can’t be proven.
Not that I condone improper conduct in any way, but when it’s one person’s word against another’s, how do we judge?
One would think that after decades of feminism, women would have learned to take care of themselves. This would, I think, include not giving sleazy players anything resembling an opening.
Well, “you’re blaming the victim,” some might say. I reply, “I’ve learned not to put myself into situations where I might become a victim.”
As a guy, I know what parts of town to stay out of. If I go there and get robbed, at least some of the blame falls on my poor judgment.
Or more to the point, if a woman dresses provocatively or has a potty mouth — well, I’m not going to be asking her if she wants to hit Denny’s for a cup of coffee and a piece of pie. There are a lot of troubled people out there of both sexes, and it’s a good survival tactic to identify them early and give them plenty of space.
This sex allegation business is approaching Salem 1691 levels and can’t die down soon enough.
There really is nothing like good sportsmanship.
Agreed.
Over 650,000 missing Trump voters for Roy Moore in Alabama.
It’s not the conservatives who didn’t turn out to vote in Virginia. It was the suburban “moderate” Republicans. I’ll bet we’ll see the exact same issue in Alabama.
That was really a dirty play. Evidently a lot of AL Republicans felt that if they can’t feel proud of their candidate and their own Senator won’t even vote for him, well they’ll just stay home instead. And they did.
Ok , well like I said, what I said still stands ...it doesn’t really change anything , unless Trump decides not to run for re-elect, which we also need to focus on ...we need to make sure Trump runs in 2020 ... Bannon and McConnell are to blame for this mess and need to focus on retaining Repub majorities ... they need to compromise NOW ...
Sometimes I cant figure Bannon out. Id like to give him credit for knowing things I dont know, but he doubled down on Moore when I could see he was trouble electorally. He is smart, he hasnt balls, but he was dead wrong here.
Wonder if the Rs should have replaced him with a write in.
This should placate the swamp Repubs (Collins, Flake, etc.) enough to get the tax bill passed. Then Trump gets the last laugh.
The dem party will make sure he goes full lib and votes 100% Dem like all the rest. Won’t be hard because he’s a hard leftist already.
Well now they get to reap the whirlwind, enjoy.
“very conservative” is for abortion? Jones is.
