Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) said Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) leaving the U.S. Senate should “establish a national standard” on how the Senate deals with Alabama GOP Senate hopeful Roy Moore if he wins.
Partial transcript as follows:
DICKERSON: Joining us now is Senate Democratic Whip Richard Durbin. He is in Springfield, Illinois. Welcome, senator. I want to pick up on something that Senator Collins said about the choice that senators may face if Roy Moore is elected in Alabama. And the question is: What business does the Senate have in overturning the will of the people of Alabama if he is elected? Senator Collins said that’s a very tough decision. What’s your sense of it?
DURBIN: Well, John, I can tell you this. First, the decision is to be made by the voters in Alabama on Tuesday. And I hope that they will do the right thing in terms of defining their standards and values when it comes to people representing them in Washington. But we have heard from Republican senators first who have suggested that if Roy Moore ends up being elected to the Senate, he would face close scrutiny, investigation, even removal from the Senate once he arrives.

Suddenly the Democrats are radical about values and any appearance of evil. Since when? And to boot, the guy hasn’t even done anything. These people are making Satan look like a school girl, wait, a school boy. Don’t want to have a Democrat trying to molest Satan.

So if the DNC or Jeb’s folks find some woman that might have known you and is willing to make allegations, you should immediately leave? Nah...
Unlike most ‘Rats, Moore (at a minimum) rehabilitated himself ~30 years ago.
Turban Durbin is a continuing menace to the US.
The voters can pound sand.
Don’t think so for one major reason.
Alabama voters have heard these allegations for a month BEFORE
the vote this Tuesday. When elected, Alabama voters would have had
plenty of time to evaluate the allegations and come to the conclusion
that they are not credible and too old.
Well no photos of Moore have surfaced with his hands on a sleeping woman’s breasts.
Hanging a few traitors would set a national standard that dirtbags like Durbin could think about.
Start with John effin Kerry.
There is a difference, a huge difference between Franken and Moore.
There is real proof of Franken fondling women. There is real proof that at least one of Moore’s accusers lied.
The other part of the Collins interview was she said it is different when the voters are aware of the allegations and elect someone as opposed to charges made after someone is elected.
Not only has Franken NOT resigned yet or even given a future date when he will resign,
he hasn’t apologized for his actions and even suggested that some of his accusers remembered it wrong
Plus the Democrats still haven’t explained why, if these guys were so bad, they were being celebrated by the Party for years at fundraisers, comedy roasts, late-nite talk shows, etc., right up until 2 weeks ago.
Same old Democrats, same old hypocrites
No integrity with these bozos

Except that Franken hasn’t left and the allegations against Moore have fallen apart.

Franken is not going to resign, this is all Showbiz. After Moore election, Franken will come out with a statement, such as, “To Fight the insanity, that a Senator Moore and the Republicans represent, I will spend the rest of my life fighting for Women” Blah Blah Blah...
