The Disney Channel Is No Longer Safe For Our Kids
New York Post ^ | December 8, 2017 | Julie Gunlock

As a mom of three young kids, I’m careful about what they’re exposed to on television, and I screen the shows they watch to confirm they reflect our family values of respect and courteousness. That’s why my kids are banned from watching the Disney Channel.

The Disney Channel and its spin-off, Disney XD, are no longer “safe spaces” for kids. The kid characters on Disney’s shows are often mouthy and disrespectful to parents and authority figures (who are usually scripted as muddle-headed and embarrassingly square). Even many of the strange animated characters make crass and nasty comments.

Shockingly, both my conservative and liberal parent friends tend to be angered by Disney’s programming. And in the Trump era, moms treasure these rare moments of bipartisan disgus

The cartoon for young girls (3-8) had a ‘my two mommies’ episode.

No thanks!

Disney’s head music exec today was busted for having sex with a 15-year-old. Not Walt’s company anymore.

They went downhill years ago when they dropped the reruns of the “Walt Disney Presents” and “The Wonderful World of Color” from their schedule. Many young people today may have enjoyed those programs or would have benefited from them.

The new Duck Tales is an abomination. The only decent show on Disney XD is Star Wars Rebels - and the previews during that show for the other programming on that station is appalling - stuff is messed up and no kid should be watching any of that disgusting crap.

Back then they actually cared about the fact kids were watching TV and their moral upbringing. That’s not the case today.

The Disney Channel has been dangerous to kids for a long time.

Disney owns ABC, which is the network of that show ‘preverted Family’ (aka Modern Family). Walt Disney is spinning in his grave..

Hate to say it, but it really was NEVER safe for kids. It used to be rather benign though, before the advent of TV 24/7 and the ability of young children to sit in front of screens for hours.

Reading is much better for children of all ages-—listening to parents reading to young children is far better for them than watching ANYTHING on screens which shuts down the brain and prevents neuron activity-—it atrophies the brain and is mind control—programs artificial emotions removed from reality.

Get your kids off of the screens and reading hard copies-—best for creativity, ability to think for self, and for intellectual growth. Have them play games again with other children—NOT video games either. The social skills of six year olds are equivalent to two year olds of 80 years ago. They are RETARTED!!!!!

It’s addressed in the documentary An Open Secret.

The Disney train derailed a long time ago. They have put out a few moderately/generally-safe films, but the bulk of their offerings - particularly their TV productions have been horrendous.

Wow, I didn’t know it existed. I made 1 minute into an episode. That’s really, really bad.

Michael Eisner was responsible for the start of the decline of Disney back in the late 1980s. Once it was about the bottom line the end was coming.

My three children were born from 1993 to 1999 and even back then anything that was not classic Disney was banned in our household. My mother bought my kids, on impulse, a Disney video in the mid 90s for Christmas. The packaging seemed fine but I screened it anyway. It was such junk that it was in the garbage before you could say “Walt Disney.”

I watch Phineas and Ferb on XD and that is the only thing worth watching.

I might watch an older movie on Disney but not often.

Disney is NOT a family-oriented company. And its media property piss on America daily.

Disney is not your friend.
