Time Magazine has released a list of finalists for their "person of the year:" Kim Jong Un, Xi Jinping, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, Jeff Bezos, Colin Kaepernick, The Dreamers, Robert Mueller, Patty Jenkins and Donald Trump.
Why it matters: President Trump was named Person of the Year by the magazine last year, and tweeted a couple weeks ago that he he had told Time "no thanks" when they informed him he would "probably" receive the title again. Time denied the story. Trump has often boasted about being on the cover of Time magazine, and the Washington Post discovered that fake Time Magazine covers featuring Trump are hanging in several of his golf clubs.
Well, they both are politically aligned with TIME. So, Yeah.
Trump has been the biggest and most overpowering personality in the world bar none no matter your political persuasion. He has been an earthquake on the political and social scene. Trump is the obvious choice.
POLL: Who should be Time Person of the Year?

Mueller......................
I’m surprised that Time didn’t choose “the generic sexual harasser” for their annual “hey, we still exist” issue.
Personally, I think TIME should make the Deplorables their person of the year. They might even sell some magazines. Kaepernick is way too unpopular and Kim is almost painful to look at.
Time’s Person of the Year should be the hashtag #MeToo.
The person of the Year should be “The Deplorable American Voter”
Beat me by one minute. Like minds.
“The Dreamers”, as in....illegals?
WHO is Patty Jenkins?
Seriously. Never heard of her.
I expect they will pick Kaepernick. Single-handedly separating Americans from their previous favorite pastime is no small achievement. :)
OK, so I googled her. She’s a Hollywood director.
No big deal. But because she has a vagina - that makes it a big deal.
She directed a DC superhero movie which didn’t suck. A most remarkable achievement.

Last year he got it because he turned the world of US politics upside down - there was no choice but to name him as the man who changed the world the most in 2016. But the same logic holds in 2017. The Fat Korean, Kapernick, Mueller, etc. - they are ONLY important because of their involvement (in one way or another) with Trump. Yeah, they’d make a splash otherwise (though I wonder if there’d really be a Special Counsel if Trump lost), but nothing compared to the situation with Trump as POTUS.
Trump has largely completed the process of making the US energy independent; now it is simply up to the oil, coal and NG companies to ramp up the production that Trump’s changed have allowed. China is talking to us on trade, and also on NK - which NEVER would have happened but for Trump. The tax cut that looks like its going to pass will make US companies FAR more competitive, and would similarly have NEVER happened without Trump.
So, Trump is the obvious choice...which means that he’ll never get it. Plus, Time won’t give him the joy of a two-fer. It’ll be that shit-weasel, Mueller.
Either Trump or Bezos would make sense. Both have been enormously influential this year.
Directed Wonder Woman.
Trump declared, no thanks!
The eventual Time POY is the “first loser” among all other selected candidates.
Change the award to commie of the year.
