US orders 16,000 troops and 230 jets to get ready for WAR with North Korea TODAY
Daily Star ^ | 3rd December 2017 | Henry Holloway

NORTH Korea better be watching its back today as thousands of US troops and 230 warplanes descend on Kim Jong-un’s doorstep.

Vigilant Ace – a massive joint war games – kicks off today as the US and South Korea rehearse for battle with Pyongyang.

Hundreds of aircraft and thousands of soldiers and airmen are taking part in the drill, which is one of the biggest ever of its kind.

US and South Korean forces will be rehearsing for a full-scale war with North Korea.

Nuclear fears have reignited as Kim fired his latest missile last week – his biggest and most powerful yet, the Hwasong-15.

And there now fears Kim could be readying the dreaded Juche Bird, his most shocking weapons test to date. US President Donald Trump will be looking to flex his muscles as he dispatches his most deadly fighter planes to ready for war in Vigilant Ace.

“So right now Korea would be a unified peninsula....”

China would have annexed and occupied the Korean Peninsula decades ago.

No US ground troops. Just F22s, B2s, A10s and a few BUFFs. 👍

I’d rather just send bombs throughout their country. Why can’t we just bomb the crap out of them like we are Syria. I’d rather no military members be part of that mess. We tried that before and it failed. Just bomb them.

“The armchair generals are weighing in...”

Perhaps if you had military service and the benefit of participating in multiple war exercises, you would have the requisite knowledge to opine on the subject too.

I served in the U.S. Marine Corps and I performed in multiple war exercises. So take your presumptuous attitude and shove it up your posterior.

That said, I do not presume to play at armchair general. I have confidence in the generals on active duty in the field.

If you feel you know better than the actual generals in the field, then I suggest you submit your war plans to President Trump and Defense Secretary James Mattis. Perhaps they can put you back on active duty and in a command role.

I got an idea. This fat bully like big parades of his glorious troops and military hardware. Send about a hundred cruise missiles as uninvited guests to his next big parade?

“I served in the U.S. Marine Corps and I performed in multiple war exercises.”

Semper Fi, Marine.

My comment was to indicate, contrary to the sensationalized article, the forces in theater are not nearly enough to suggest war preparation.

Only when we see several multiples of the listed forces moving would war prep be underway.

Did you ride any ships in PacFlt?

I was in the Air Wing (MASS - Marine Air Support Squadron) and spent much of my time in the Mojave Desert with C-130s (Gallant Eagle and similar exercises). I maintained a DASC (Direct Air Support Center) and we would put our vans into the belly of C-130s and support the exercises including directing bombers to their targets. So no ship duty for me but I earned my flight pay.

Thanks for clarifying your comment. If we were going to war in Korea, I trust that our military will put the proper resources into play.

The C-130’s I flew on in the Navy were barely holding together.

I can’t imagine the condition of a USMC C-130. Rough I suspect.

Have some rough rides on those C-130s but they still held together. That was over 30 years ago and I believe many of them are still flying today!

“I have confidence in the generals on active duty in the field.”

After 8 years of Obama handing out stars to generals who believe in global warming, biomass fuel, “social justice”, etc I dont share your sanguine view.

I would have said that a year ago. I do have confidence in our current commander in chief and his defense secretary. It’s fixed or well on it’s way to being fixed.

There’s already “a barge offshore”. Seoul, 30 miles away with plenty of good and goodies.
