It would be interesting if this charge and guilty plea opens the door for Flynn to take action against the Obama Administration for invasion of privacy or unlawful wiretap. Flynn would definitely have standing now although being fired should have been enough.

Everything seems to have a plot twist in this drama. I really don’t see how Flynn can be much of a witness for Mueller going forward. Flynn’s credibility is pretty much ruined it would seem.

Matt Schlap notes that it’s been reported that when Trump met Obama at the White House, Obama went nuclear on Flynn and that Obama hates Flynn. The Obama + Clinton folks were engaged in a massive illegal surveillance op based on arrogance they could break the law with impunity.

Talking heads on CNN have grim faces ... I expected to find them giddy - this isn’t what they were hoping for and leaves them wondering what’s next ...

Flynn certainly now has proof that his conversations with the Russian ambassador were "wiretapped."

Interesting that Wallace asked Pence that question about the lifting of sanctions and the escalation of sanctions as topics of conversation by Flynn with the Russians. No doubt, this information was leaked to the Press by Dem operatives and Mueller's people.

Similar on MSNBC, they are now saying there is no evidence of collusion, it’s now a potential obstruction case that will get Trump based on what Sally Yates has testified to (based on illegal surveillance), “you don’t want your national security advisor compromised with the Russians”. Flynn lied to FBI four days after Trump became POTUS and was cut loose a couple weeks after Trump + Pence learned.

Why anyone would speak to the FBI on any subject is beyond me. I would tell them the name of my dog if they came to the door. I’d politely say: I’m a patriotic American citizen. Talk to my lawyer. Her is his number. Now GTFO my front porch.

You act as if Flynn was just some dude in Appalachia who was visited by the FBI as part of an investigation into marijuana farms and crystal meth labs that were found in a nearby forest.

Flynn was a senior executive branch appointee who was being interviewed by the FBI as a matter of course during the background check as part of the nomination process.

There are very credible experts who disagree with everything your posted here.

Credible experts? LMAO! You probably are referring to Imperator_Rex on Twitter, LMAO again. Name one, who is recognized anywhere outside of Twitter, and most importantly one who has one shred of verifiable evidence.

Two things I’ve read that may prove to be relevant:
1. Flynn’s plea may have at least in part involved dropping an investigation of his son, who most likely had little to do with the Trump campaign but more to do with other dealings:

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/mike-flynn-s-son-subject-federal-russia-probe-n800741

2. Some say Flynn has had a bellyful of Obama for a long time and has a LOT that he wants to say about things. An honorable man would not hesitate to make a personal sacrifice (i.e. plead to this process charge) in order to have credibility to share other information.

Lastly - remember “fog of war” and the high probability that everything we think we “know” now will not all prove to be true in the final analysis. Take a breath, there’s nothing anyone here can do about any of this, just let it unfold and examine the outcome after things have cooled down.

And let’s just think about why this all started: a wiretap and unmasking of General Flynn...and who might be culpable for those acts.

The leak to Washington Compost based on the illegal wiretapping of Flynn occurred before Mueller was appointed - the leaks came from Obama folks.

Flynn himself is major spook ... looks very composed at Court. He was fired by Obama and knows where bodies are.

Trump may be in the clear regarding Russia, as some pundits are saying, but Mueller has already veered from just investigating Russia collusion by charging Manafort for charges occurring way back in 2005.

I don't believe Manafort is facing a single charge dating back to 2005. The statute of limitations on such a charge would have expired years ago.

In Mueller's defense, keep in mind that Manafort had been under investigation by the FBI on many of these things as far back as 2012. Mueller charged him with these crimes even though they were unrelated to Mueller's mandate as a special prosecutor because the law requires any and all charges against a defendant to be adjudicated together.

I thought I made it clear; loaded questions like yours can’t be answered rationally because they are based on a false premise.

I even predicted you would keep repeating it word for word without addressing it’s flaws.

It’s not a loaded question. All you gotta say is “yeah, I think muller is after trump”..... or “no, i think muller is not after trimp”. It’s not a difficult position. But on a slightly diff angle.... LS is a jerk and just some guy trying to start an internet biz, who knows no more anout this than you or I. And he owes me $100 now which he’ll never pay off. And his biz partner is an even bigger jerk. And he’s crude too.

It appears that Obama’s man at Justice has finally found someone to use to pry into a non-existent problem.

I blinked and suddenly my underwater short is live

I guess Flynn is testifying against Trump and market is shook.

Will have to look at details later.

Doubt anyone who relentlessly bashed me will apologize yet..

The intel community was monitoring the Trump transition team based initially on the Steele dossier that formed the basis of a FISA warrant.

Likely, but still unknown. Flynn could have been swept up in incidental collection of the Russians.

Flynn will be pardoned by Trump at some point, probably before he leaves office in 2021 or 2025 depending on what happens in 2020.

Remains to be seen. While this charge does hurt Flynn's credibilty to provide further testimony, Mueller may not be through using him against Trump yet.

Pence and Trump must have had the recording of the Flynn meeting with the Russian ambassador provided by the intel community. They had no choice but to fire Flynn who was probably exceeding his authority. Still, there is no crime with discussing these matters with the Russians, only the process crime of lying about it to the FBI.

On this we agree, and obviously Trump pulled a quick trigger to try to insulate himself, but in the highly charged environment putting any blood in the water may have hurt as much as it helped, at the time. Longer term, it will probably prove to have been the right decision.

Watching Fox Business. The market has tanked based on news that ABC is reporting that the Flynn deal with Mueller has Flynn saying Trump asked Flynn to make contact with the Russians. Also there are three holdouts for the Senate tax bill (Collins, Flake, Corker). Collins is asking for the moon - more tax credits, Obama care subsidies, retain state and local tax deductions.

Yeah... they did the same thing to Scooter Libby... They didn't get him for anything illegal, just lying to the investigators....

IIRC Scooter Libbey didn't even lie if the definition of a lie is to "attempt to decieve". Rather he remembered some event as happening differently from the way a TV Talk Show person (Tim Russert?) remembered it. It might have been about the dates certain things happened.

One of my biggest disappointments then was when W commuted Scooter Libbey's sentence but did not grant him a pardon. Of course later I realized that W was not on our side. What looked like weakness in not standing up to attacks on him was probably his not wanting to upset the "in" crowd, which he later joined.

I want to revisit my response to you on this. What Flynn was discussing COULD be a crime of conspiracy, if a quid pro quo was offered and received on the call. The fact he was fired so quickly could increase that likelihood, as they may not have fired him if the subject had only very briefly been mentioned, and they thought they could (and wanted to) make that argument in his defense.
