The Little Sisters of the Poor are heading back to court to defend themselves against the Obama administrations Health and Human Services mandate to provide contraception, yet again. In an unusual political move, Pennsylvania and California sued the Little Sisters, demanding the same group who won at the Supreme Court in Zubik v. Burwell provide contraceptives in their state.
In early October, HHS issued a new rule that protects religious non-profits like the Little Sisters of the Poor from providing anything like contraception that would violate their religious beliefs. In a press release, Mark Rienzi, senior counsel at Becket and lead attorney for the Little Sisters of the Poor, said: Sadly Josh Shapiro and Xavier Becerra [attorneys general in Pennsylvania and California, respectively] think attacking nuns is a way to score political points. These men may think their campaign donors want them to sue nuns, but our guess is most taxpayers disagree. No one needs nuns in order to get contraceptives, and no one needs these guys reigniting the last administrations divisive and unnecessary culture war.
Lets hope for the Little Sisters' sake, these frivolous lawsuits end swiftly and decisively so they can continue their good work.

I'll bet they are correct.
THESE COWARDS WOULD NOT DARE QUESTION ISLAM THOUGH
For a liberal, allowing any alternate views, any at all, means they haven’t won. They must win at any cost. Having won that means that they are right and morally virtuous. If they haven’t won then there is the possibility that people will see them as evil. Therefore, the only way possible to eliminate the possible Nuremburg situation where they hang for what they’ve done is to force society to declare in advance that their position is morally right.
The first thing this order of nuns should do is shut down their operations in any state that sues them.
the desperate effort to establish legal precedence.
Do the Little Sisters of the Poor even employ any women who need birth control? Or are the libs demanding that the nuns cover themselves?
Dems hate the Sisters and love muzzies, sharpton, frankin. Why I will never vote dem.
If you are gonna pick on somebody it is much easier to do so on people who are naturally nice and generally don’t yell back.
Good question to ask before people vote democrat. Why does defending their position always end up in court or in a street brawl? Must not be a very good position if they’re always fighting fellow Americans. Must be illegal or un-American in the first place.
For the love of God why do Cathloics register as Democrats? Likewise, same question applies to Jews and all Christians. Ann Coulter wrote a book explaining how godless the Democrats are. The name of the book is Godless.
For the love of God why do Cathloics register as Democrats?
Many are under the ancient illusion, perhaps from their parents, that Democrats are for “the little guy”. The Uniparty is not for “the little guy” the Uniparty is for elite global control.; the little guy be damned.
In California, perhaps. But in Pennsylvania, no.
The problem is that the average Pennsylvania voter is not aware of this attack on the Little Sisters. The media just will not report on it. I did a brief Google search of PA news outlets, looking for the story. It's not there.
Good point.
This just shows how low they have sunk!
> Many are under the ancient illusion, perhaps from their parents, that Democrats are for the little guy. <
Well said. Awhile back I overheard two young people talking politics. One said said to the other: “The Democrats used to be for people who work hard. Now they are for people who hardly work.”
At least some young people get it!
[[For the love of God, why can’t Democrats leave the Little Sisters of the Poor alone?]]
because democrats like them are Satan’s little helpers who hate, with a jihad-like vengeance, anyone associated with religion
So why not make abortion and contraception insurance available from a third party. People could purchase it the way they purchase car insurance.
Because liberal Catholics hate Right to Life. I found that out talking to the moms of my daughters friends at her catholic high school. There are conservative Catholics still, but I think the Gen Xers are supplanting them.
