The mystery over the attack on Rand Paul deepens
CNN ^ | November 22, 2017 | Chris Cillizza

Posted on 11/25/2017 2:55:30 PM PST by iowamark

It's been 19 days since Rand Paul was attacked by a neighbor while mowing his lawn. And on Wednesday, the story got even stranger as the wife of the Kentucky Republican Senator wrote a piece for CNN detailing the extent of the injuries he suffered in the attack.

"There have been several nights where I had my hand on my phone ready to call 911 when his breathing became so labored it was terrifying," writes Kelley Paul of her husband.

What's even more striking is how Kelley Paul describes the attack -- and the motive behind it...

In the immediate aftermath of the Nov. 3 attack at Paul's home in Kentucky, several neighbors spoke out to CNN and other national news sites, insisting that it was the boiling point of a long-running dispute over flora and fauna. "A neighbor who did not want to be identified said the two have been 'quibbling' over yard waste for years," CNN wrote on Nov. 7. A statement by a lawyer for Rene Boucher, the man who tackled Paul, seemed to affirm that story...

So, what the heck actually happened -- and more importantly why? Why would someone who had been a longtime neighbor of Paul's suddenly snap and inflict serious damage on him? Why is there so much effort to push totally contradictory explanations of the incident and what motivated it? We are dealing with a US Senator who was viciously attacked at his home. Boucher pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault earlier this month, making it more likely there will be a trial at which we may finally get this mystery solved.

What gives? What really happened? How do we not know this yet?

They want it to be over landscaping issues so that the FBI doesn’t investigate or Federal Charges.

Yeah, but those things will happen, anyway - if United States Senator Rand Paul demands that they happen.

Maybe the local treatment is penny ante because it’s expected that the Feds are going to do the heavy lifting?

considering the extent of Paul’s injuries, it’s surprising that the charges are still in the ‘non-felony’ category

had the man done this to his wife or child, he’d be in prison with the key tossed

“I have no use for them. They aren’t worth the eight mile drive to my polling place.”

Agreed. How much easier voting will become when there is only one party. Mandatory voting from home will be a snap, and the outcome will be well known before hand, as will the punishment for failure to vote, but no one wants that, right?

It doesn’t matter what the “reason” is for the attack. Physically attacking someone for the purpose of inflicting bodily harm is a crime. Unprovoked or not, there is NO defense for the attack. Lock the bastard up!!

Well, that would explain the silence from Rand Paul himself. Otherwise, this is a felonious assault. I would think assaulting a sitting US Senator would be a Federal offense.

You are wrong....... you are blinded by extreme conservative radicalism that narrows your view to prevent the view of reality

You have been gullible and fallen for the propaganda needed to elect a democrat

“I would think assaulting a sitting US Senator would be a Federal offense.”

Whereas a sitting US Senator, such as Al Franken, can put his gross, disgusting, slimy hands anywhere he wants to on another person and suffer only a little ‘PR’ problem.

*SPIT*

Not really the SAME as the unbridled ATTACK that Senator Rand suffered, but I’m sure you see what I mean. ;)

What a crazy-screwed up world. THANKS, DEMOCRATS!

The neighbor was a lunatic Trump hating leftists that blames the GOP for global warming which he thinks killed his plants so he attacked his Republican neighbor to save the planet, ends justifies means defense, liberal judge and he will get off with a warning or he might actually get an award and Senator Paul will be brought up on charges depends if the judge was appointed by Bill Clinton or Obama.

He could have been killed! This would be front page top story news if it was some sleazy office masturbating Democrat. But republicans and Dems don’t like Paul because he doesn’t play their globalist game.

Prayers up for his healing.

Supposedly the doctor is an internist who specializes in pain management? I cannot verify yet. But it seems, he was interested in causing the maximum amount of pain in the honorable senator without outright killing him - and would k ow exactly where it hurts most. :(

Rand Paul also had to witness Steve Scalise get shot.

Prayers for both. Must be agony for their wives.

Assassination by tackle? He probably read the directions wrong. It was supposed to be assassination by BLOCK and tackle.
