Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

It is entirely possible. Before Adolph marched storm troopers into Poland on September 1, 1939, the western media fawned over him. He was described as charming, a lady's man with impeccable manners, a health guru for his non-smoking and vegetarian diet in an era when EVERYBODY smoked and ate meat.
He also made himself accessible to the press and charmed them. Read any major magazine covering the time he came to power in 1933 until Crystal Night just shy of six years later.

Looking at that picture, I have to comment about what allowed both Clintons, Obama, and a high percentage of other politicians to attain public office. The singular accomplishment of many of these people's lives prior to being elected is that they went to a university with name recognition. That's it.
Think about that, and it becomes relatively easy to see why we don't get the best people in public office. It's actually pathetic.
