Texas Congressman Joe Barton released a statement Wednesday apologizing for a graphic nude photo of him that circulated on social media earlier this week. He announced his re-election bid earlier this month.
U.S. Rep. Joe Barton, R-Ennis, released a statement on Wednesday apologizing for a graphic nude photo of him that circulated on social media earlier this week.
"While separated from my second wife, prior to the divorce, I had sexual relationships with other mature adult women," he said. "Each was consensual. Those relationships have ended. I am sorry I did not use better judgment during those days. I am sorry that I let my constituents down."
Barton, who announced his re-election bid earlier this month, is navigating in a political environment charged with emerging stories of sexual misbehavior in politics, in business, and in the media. The photo, which appeared on an anonymous Twitter account, set off speculation within Texas GOP circles about his political future.
In a phone interview with The Texas Tribune on Tuesday, Barton said he was deliberating that.

He is not a reflection of the people of Ennis. He is a turncoat who pleasured himself out of a job and out of the respect people once had for him.
He has betrayed the people who faithfully put him in office.
It is the evil culture that normalizes and encourages dysfunction and vile behaviors that destroy relationships and the Christian worldview. Our culture has constant promotion of hate between males and females and all races, objectifying all people and trying to make women into men and men into woman.
Defying Nature (Natural Laws/God’s Laws) makes everyone unhappy and removed from Reality and Truth (God). The Christian worldview of love and forgiveness is LONG GONE in too many stupid Americans who have no virtue embedded anymore. The Christian worldview which created the Age of Reason and US Constitution is being erased in our children as I type.
Wisdom is discerning Good and Evil (Cicero). We have been programmed to think Evil is Good and so we are really, really stupid and have NO common sense (understanding of Natural Laws).We live in artificial environments in front of screens (dehumanized) and have our emotions constantly controlled in irrational ways-—so we no longer are rational-—just feel good—it is good creatures.
