The Alexander-Murray proposal would appropriate the cost sharing subsidies for two years, and tie them to permanent changes to the law that give states more flexibility to seek waivers from the Health and Human Services Department from the ACA’s requirements. It would also allow insurances companies to sell less comprehensive plans to all customers, not just those under age 29 as is the case under current law.

We didn't elect a GOP majority to RAISE TAXES ON THE MIDDLE CLASS-PERIOD.

This is a desperate ploy by the GOP Senate scumbags to get their middle class tax increase passed by misdirection on removing the Obamacare Mandate- NICE TRY SUCKERS.

The people writing this tax bill are lying Goldman Sachs oligarchs Banksters, the same scumbags that were “too big to fail” and got the taxpayers to bail them out back in 2008 that now want a huge tax cut for corporations and want the upper middle class to pay for it.

CUT SPENDING

DO NOT RAISE TAXES ON THE MIDDLE CLASS

This bill raises taxes on a family of four in ANY State, whether they have a State Income tax or not.

Banksters Mnuchin and Gary Cohn from Goldman Sachs are writing the tax bill.

This is an attempt at the biggest heist in history.

“Mnuchin is a member of the “Big Six”, a group of politicians convened to write a tax reform proposal that incorporated input from members of the House of Representatives, Senate, and White House. In addition to Mnuchin, the group consists of Senators Orrin Hatch (R-UT) and Mitch McConnell (R-KY); Representatives Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Paul Ryan (R-WI); and National Economic Council Director Gary Cohn”.

Do you trust these 2 creepy scumbags or believe a goddamned word they say?

I sure as hell don't

They need a trip to the Guillotine, not running around trying to steal cash from HARD WORKING MIDDLE CLASS TAXPAYERS!!!!!

Even an idiot can see from this bar chart that FEDGOV is out of control.

Yearly spending has doubled too, from 2 trillion to 4 trillion since 2001.

Rather than cut spending, the GOP wants to stick it to MIDDLE CLASS taxpayers THAT ACTUALLY PAY TAXES, give corporations a break (windfall that won't be passed down to employees), and pass it off as a TAX CUT

OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!

This is their public-facing position, but one wonders, what are they doing to make sure this provision never sees the light of day?

Adding a repeal of the individual mandate to Senate Tax Reform bill is a clear sign that leadership knows tax reform is going to fail and that Congressional Republicans will need this vote to help them in close 2018 elections.

Senate Republican leaders are adding a provision to their tax bill that would repeal the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate

I'll get exciting when it becomes law.

Something smells on this.

Agree, very suspicious. These swamp vermin are great at either inserting poison pills into good bills to kill them, or taking must pass legislation and creating a crap sandwich.

Bills should be single item only. That way things pass or fail on merit only. And politicians cant hide true intent behind the complex bills.

Make each and every working individual and business pay a tax rate of ONLY 15%, without any chance of, ever, increasing that rate. The chances of decreasing the rate of 15%, in the future, should be there, though. It continues to be very foolish to punish the wealthy with much higher tax rates, instead of keeping the tax rates the same for everybody. The wealthy are paying more than everybody else, anyways, even with a 15% tax rate. BTW, what is President Trump’s view of the Fair Tax?

Hahaha. I guess McCain needed a reason to oppose the tax bill.

Sounds like you thought that some Democrats might have voted for it before.

I’m good with that. I’ve long said, I don’t really care nearly as much about any other part of Obamacare other than the individual mandate. That piece has to go!

Are they just doing this because they know the bill is going to fail anyways?

The "Tax Reform Bill" will substantially increase income taxes for middle-class home owners.

It is probably not going to pass.

The "Mandate Repeal" provision is a distraction to make a bad tax bill look better than it really is. And it will almost certainly be removed in conference anyway.

Just more slight-of-hand from the Congress-critters.

For People to have more, the Government must take less.
