Mitch! Mitch! Mitch! Mitch! /s
It actually saves $300 billion off the deficit (making it easier to approve the budget with 51 votes) over 10 years - since we dont force people to sign up (no mandate), 13 million wont be forced to get insurance, therefore, the government wont have to subsidize it and we save $300 billion.
The left will go crazy but 13 million people wont get insurance!!!
Maybe they choose not to get insurance. Isnt that their right too?
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Republicans WANT to fail.
Thanks Innovative.
Hearing this morning that the individual tax cut is temporary, expires by 2025, but the corp tax cut is permanent.
WTH?
Hooray, now lets pass the tax increase on small business.
Idiots.
Trump can do away with it through executive action.
>
Make each and every working individual and business pay a tax rate of ONLY 15%, without any chance of, ever, increasing that rate. The chances of decreasing the rate of 15%, in the future, should be there, though. It continues to be very foolish to punish the wealthy with much higher tax rates, instead of keeping the tax rates the same for everybody. The wealthy are paying more than everybody else, anyways, even with a 15% tax rate. BTW, what is President Trumps view of the Fair Tax?
>
Why limit to the WORKING? Do not the retired a/o unemployed/under-the-table utilize govt too??
IMO, you’re on the right path: a NRST (semi-Fair Tax...w/o the ‘prebate’ BS). EVERYONE w/ skin in the game and only those TRULY ‘self-sufficient’ (barter/trade/home-grown) would pay $0%
>
Sure it guarantees that NO Dem will vote for it.
Sounds like you thought that some Democrats might have voted for it before.
>
Some need being (re)elected too, no? /semi-s
They do. So how is voting for a tax plan that will raise taxes on the middle class going to help them do that?

Isn’t that the way the ‘law’ works?? IIRC, all ‘cuts’ are temporary (IE: a set period of time), but any/all new/raised tax never been re-voted upon.
IOW, govt is of the belief all $$ belongs to THEM, not to those whom generated said $$.
It also keeps their bacon out of the election fire when they can feign ignorance and ‘shock’ while, like this, do the ‘govt shuffle’ of, “Well, it failed, but I *TRIED*.”
Mitch is so unimaginative. He is counting on using McCain to thumb this down because it isnt bi-partisan. But this might be something McCain lets through. If Mitch really wants to kill it and screw Trump (which I believe he does) he should just insert a provision which make congress subject to the provisions of Obamacare.
Their internals must look awful.

Exactly WHAT have they *done* that would compel ANYONE to pull the lever for the (R)NC?? Tax bill? Wall? Judges? O’Care? Maybe the $15M ‘hush fund’?
Sorry, FRiend, they’re willing to throw the game to drop back into the ‘opposition role’ where they can pull in big $$ (to ‘fight’ the (D)) and continue to support their comrades across the aisle.
You cannot pass laws like this when in the end the losing party has nothing to lose. If Republicans screw this up, McConnell and Ryan will still have a job. If I was in no fear of losing my job, and it was all about my own greed rather than the people I serve, what do I care if a bill passes or not.
This is why term limits must be implemented.
They seem bound and determined to make sure it doesn't.
Yeah right.
Ron Johnson came out against it. Adding the repeal will lose Susan Collins. McCain may torpedo it out of spite. And if he doesn't then Flake might.
Now, as if on cue, it is reported that THREE GOP Senators are against the tax bill.
Now we are down to 49.
See how that works?
Bastids—corrupt bastids—ALL of them!
