Sen. Ted Cruz on Monday withdrew his support from Alabama GOP Senate nominee Roy Moore, saying allegations of sexual misconduct should be looked at by prosecutors.
“As it stands, I can’t urge the people of Alabama to support a campaign in the face of these charges without serious, persuasive demonstration that the charges are not true,” the Texas Republican told reporters, according to a Texas Tribune reporter.
“Both last week and this week, there are serious charges of criminal conduct that if true, not only make him unfit to serve in the Senate but merit criminal prosecution,” he added.

Well, I was a Cruz supporter until the bitter end.
I have defended Cruz here endlessly against those still bitter at him.
I dragged multiple people to the primaries to support him.
I was among those who fought for a real conservative to take the place of Hutchinson when she retired.
He just killed my support. I guess I have no choice but to vote for him if he is the Republican candidate for his seat, but that’s it.
He just does not know when to keep his mouth shut.
I would be much more inclined to believe such accusations against Cruz than against Moore.
The answer should have been from every Republican that he is the candidate that Alabama chose. He is innocent until proven guilty. If there are charges to make, then bring them. If he is guilty he will be replaced. But until then, he is an honorable judge with a long, proven track record.
Again, the worst thing in Moore’s past is that he used to be a Democrat.
With Cruz being among the tiny few conservative-voting senators, I felt that Trump’s agenda had a chance. Now this. Very disappointing.
The fake morality and bad laws went too far a long time ago. Lawyers and their useful idiot feminists are getting too old for politics, and they know it.
