Sex reassignment is as natural as being born, some in the media tell us. And many Americans are buying it.
But a growing chorus of dissenters made up of physicians, researchers, and even transgender individuals is beginning to paint a far different picture of the truth.
These dissenters are now coming forward to expose just how harmful gender transition and reassignment are—both medically and sociologically speaking.
First, consider recent revelations about how problematic sex reassignment surgery is as a therapy for gender dysphoria.
In an interview with The Telegraph, world-renowned genital reconstructive surgeon Miroslav Djordjevic said his clinics are experiencing an increase in “reversal” surgeries for those who want their genitalia back. These people express crippling levels of depression and, in some instances, suicidal thoughts.
In male-to-female reassignment surgery, doctors such as Djordjevic transform the man’s genitals into the shape of a vagina, removing the testicles and inverting the penis.
In female-to-male reassignment surgery, doctors remove the woman’s breasts, uterus, and ovaries, and extend the urethra so that the woman-turned-man can urinate from the standing position.
A recent Newsweek article takes note of Djordjevic’s concerns, illustrating their legitimacy by pointing to the case of Charles Kane, a man who underwent male-to-female reassignment surgery.
In a BBC interview, Kane explains that he decided to have the initial surgery immediately after having a nervous breakdown. But after having the surgery and identifying as a female named “Sam Hashimi,” Kane soon regretted the decision and went for reversal surgery.
“When I was in the psychiatric hospital,” Kane said, “there was a man on one side of me who thought he was King George and another guy on the other side who thought he was Jesus Christ. I decided I was [a girl named] Sam.”

When I was a kid, no one would have been surprised to hear that people who want to mutilate their own genitals have a problem. Now it’s news.
I read that a while back - it was a real ‘eye opener’. No wonder the suicide rate is so high post op. Pretty horrific stuff.

I agree. It’s exploitative to such a sad degree. Someone’s environment even before they have memory can affect their personality and behavior and self identity. Something such as not being held as an infant can cause a lot of detachment problems when older. The brain is still a mysterious thing in many ways. Of course other such serious and clearly dysfunctional environments like physical, emotional, or sexual abuse contributes as well.
Surgeons who willingly mutilate these mentally disturbed people are the real criminals
With all that the neuroscientists are learning about the brain, and the fact that each and every one of our cells has our DNA and genes in them, physically changing a structure will not change each and every cell.

Gender dysphoria is a treatable mental disorder. It is insane to cater to a person with a disordered mind, and mutilate his or her genitalia.
Better to get appropriate treatment for gender confusion in a mental hospital.

The female to male “F2M” procedures are much more difficult and the result is always mediocre at best. Basically, it is just easier to remove something than it is to add something.
In both F2M and M2F surgery the most important thing is to leave the sensitive nerves on the underside of the glans penis in males or the nerves contained in the clitoris in females, intact and functional... of course this is necessary to allow the patient to achieve orgasm.
These nerves are identical in the male and female... the clitoris is the same part as the penis but it is in a vestigial state in the female. It does occasionally happen, for various reasons, that the clitoris enlarges and takes the form of a small penis. Of course this is VERY distressing for a woman. Don’t google for images of “enlarged clitoris” unless you have a strong stomach!
Some F2M patients opt to try enlarging the clitoris under the influence of testosterone to achieve a small penis. It is not difficult to route the urethra through the enlarged clitoris for urination. If the clitoris manages to reach an acceptable size then this is the best option for a F2M patient. The removal of the internal female organs is easily done and then the labia is used to form a scrotal sack into which prosthetic testicles are placed. Most females are not lucky enough to go this route though as the clitoris generally does not reach an acceptable size.
The other option for F2M transformation is to create an artificial penis using other body tissue...this results in a very sad looking penis indeed! And the created penis lacks any sensitivity and also does not contain erectile tissue so it is flaccid...this is certainly not a good outcome :-/
It is possible to use a simple electronic implant to give sensitivity to the created penis. Basically you place a pressure sensor into the end of the penis and use an embedded device to electrically stimulate the nerves in the clitoris...the clitoris would of course be placed beneath the surface of the skin in such a procedure. The patient winds up with a very ugly artificial penis but at least it has sensitivity.
Now to the M2F options.
Most surgical procedures just remove the external genitalia and use the tissue to form the vagina and labia. The urethra is placed into the proper location and that’s pretty much all there is to it.
But there is a better procedure!
Instead of creating the vagina from the remains of the penis it is possible to get a short section of small intestine and use that to form the vagina.. This results in a nice, self-lubricating vagina that has excellent elasticity and never needs to be dilated. This option is not used very often and the excuse given by many is that it results in a vagina that is always damp, smelly, and messy!? HELLO, isn’t this exactly what a real vagina is like!? Only a man could imagine that a dry vagina would be a good thing!?
In M2F surgery it is again extremely important to retain the sensitive nerves on the underside of the glans to allow the patient to be orgasmic. the tissue on the underside of the glans is preserved and the surgeon very carefully removes the penile tissue from around the nerves leading to it. This sensitive tissue at the end of a long bundle of nerves is placed in the proper place to become the clitoris.
There is another option that actually preserves the penis so if it later turns out that the surgery was a terrible mistake things can be restored.
It a male has a smallish penis it can be placed beneath the skin with the underside of the glans remaining at the surface to serve as the clitoris.. Men that have a small penis can very easily push it completely below the skin surface...drag performers do this a lot, they call it “tucking” it is easy to understand how this surgical option can be made to work if you keep in mind how easily the penis can be tucked away.
With this surgical option the clitoris will be a bit misplaced as will the other external genital parts but not so much as to make it look strange.
The result is a very acceptable external appearance, a self-lubricating vagina, and the ability to restore things pretty much as they were before if the need arises. Of course the testicles would be gone but prosthetic ones can be placed and the ability to father a child will be retained if sperm was frozen prior the the procedure.
I simply cannot explain why the surgical procedure that preserves the penis, just in case it might be needed once again, is not used in most cases!?
Maybe the idea that the penis is still there, just beneath the skin’s surface, is upsetting to the patient...hmmm, I bet this is the reason.

There’s nothing wrong with using CRISPR or similar DNA editors to change your DNA, but genital mutilation does not change your DNA.
People can call it gender transformation, but cutting off body parts isn’t actually changing anyone’s gender.
And unless you change your DNA chromosomes from XX to XY or from XY to XX, you haven’t actually changed your gender.
You are just playing pretend. Or worse (could be mental illness in some cases).
Hormone therapy doesn’t change your DNA. Genital mutilation doesn’t change your DNA.
The only way to change your gender is by editing your DNA... which science can do but the entire current “transgender” crowd is not doing.
They are just playing pretend and conning lots of confused people into mutilating their own genitals.
