Californias NAACP is pushing for state lawmakers to support a campaign to remove "The Star Spangled Banner" as the country's national anthem.
The group says the song, which has been a point of controversy in the NFL, is "one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon," The Sacramento Bee reported Tuesday.
The NAACPs California chapter last week reportedly sent out two resolutions, which had been passed at the organizations state conference last month.
One of the resolutions was to support the removal of the anthem, while the other is an effort to get the NFL to fit former player Colin Kaepernick onto a team.

> Please someone point out the racist, pro-slavery, anti-black parts <
The race-baiters will point to these lines in the second stanza:
“No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave”
The “hireling” refers to German mercenaries in British employ. The “slave” refers to runaway slaves who joined the British forces in return for the promise of freedom.
Neither reference is pro-slavery, or anti-black. Francis Scott Key was just saying that those British forces were defeated in the battle.
Ebonics-educated n*****s ignorant of American history.
A lot of that going around. Francis Scott Key wrote the lyrics during the War Of 1812 when the British brought their war here.
How people could even think it had to do with the Civil War is beyond me.
“about killing cops and white?”
You spelled ‘whitey’ wrong.
Build that wall on the east side of Kalifornica and send all the Africans back to Africa.
Today that song is considered misogynistic and glorifies the obtainment of wealth.
Doesn’t get any more mainline Democrat Party than the NAACP. Nice to see their true America hating colors on display for all with eyes to see.
This is an Obama controlled communist takeover attempt of our nation.
Maybe something like this? (LOL!)
Allons enfants de la Patrie,
Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
Contre nous de la tyrannie,
L’étendard sanglant est levé, (bis)
Entendez-vous dans les campagnes
Mugir ces féroces soldats?
Ils viennent jusque dans vos bras
Égorger vos fils, vos compagnes!
Aux armes, citoyens,
Formez vos bataillons,
Marchons, marchons!
Qu’un sang impur
Abreuve nos sillons!
Que veut cette horde d’esclaves,
De traîtres, de rois conjurés?
Pour qui ces ignobles entraves,
Ces fers dès longtemps préparés? (bis)
Français, pour nous, ah! quel outrage
Quels transports il doit exciter!
C’est nous qu’on ose méditer
De rendre à l’antique esclavage!
Aux armes, citoyens...
Quoi! des cohortes étrangères
Feraient la loi dans nos foyers!
Quoi! Ces phalanges mercenaires
Terrasseraient nos fiers guerriers! (bis)
Grand Dieu! Par des mains enchaînées
Nos fronts sous le joug se ploieraient
De vils despotes deviendraient
Les maîtres de nos destinées!
Aux armes, citoyens...
Tremblez, tyrans et vous perfides
L’opprobre de tous les partis,
Tremblez! vos projets parricides
Vont enfin recevoir leurs prix! (bis)
Tout est soldat pour vous combattre,
S’ils tombent, nos jeunes héros,
La terre en produit de nouveaux,
Contre vous tout prêts à se battre!
Aux armes, citoyens...
Français, en guerriers magnanimes,
Portez ou retenez vos coups!
Épargnez ces tristes victimes,
À regret s’armant contre nous. (bis)
Mais ces despotes sanguinaires,
Mais ces complices de Bouillé,
Tous ces tigres qui, sans pitié,
Déchirent le sein de leur mère!
Aux armes, citoyens...
Amour sacré de la Patrie,
Conduis, soutiens nos bras vengeurs
Liberté, Liberté chérie,
Combats avec tes défenseurs! (bis)
Sous nos drapeaux que la victoire
Accoure à tes mâles accents,
Que tes ennemis expirants
Voient ton triomphe et notre gloire!
Aux armes, citoyens...
(Couplet des enfants)[14]
Nous entrerons dans la carrière
Quand nos aînés n’y seront plus,
Nous y trouverons leur poussière
Et la trace de leurs vertus (bis)
Bien moins jaloux de leur survivre
Que de partager leur cercueil,
Nous aurons le sublime orgueil
De les venger ou de les suivre
Aux armes, citoyens...
Arise, children of the Fatherland,
The day of glory has arrived!
Against us tyranny’s
Bloody banner is raised, (repeat)
Do you hear, in the countryside,
The roar of those ferocious soldiers?
They’re coming right into your arms
To cut the throats of your sons, your women!
To arms, citizens,
Form your battalions,
Let’s march, let’s march!
Let an impure blood
Soak our fields!
What does this horde of slaves,
Of traitors and conspiratorial kings want?
For whom are these vile chains,
These long-prepared irons? (repeat)
Frenchmen, for us, ah! What outrage
What fury it must arouse!
It is us they dare plan
To return to the old slavery!
To arms, citizens...
What! Foreign cohorts
Would make the law in our homes!
What! These mercenary phalanxes
Would strike down our proud warriors! (repeat)
Great God! By chained hands
Our brows would yield under the yoke
Vile despots would have themselves
The masters of our destinies!
To arms, citizens...
Tremble, tyrants and you traitors
The shame of all parties,
Tremble! Your parricidal schemes
Will finally receive their reward! (repeat)
Everyone is a soldier to combat you
If they fall, our young heroes,
The earth will produce new ones,
Ready to fight against you!
To arms, citizens...
Frenchmen, as magnanimous warriors,
Bear or hold back your blows!
Spare those sorry victims,
Who arm against us with regret. (repeat)
But not these bloodthirsty despots,
These accomplices of Bouillé,
All these tigers who, mercilessly,
Rip their mother’s breast!
To arms, citizens...
Sacred love of the Fatherland,
Lead, support our avenging arms
Liberty, cherished Liberty,
Fight with thy defenders! (repeat)
Under our flags, may victory
Hurry to thy manly accents,
May thy expiring enemies,
See thy triumph and our glory!
To arms, citizens...
(Children’s Verse)
We shall enter the (military) career
When our elders are no longer there,
There we shall find their dust
And the trace of their virtues (repeat)
Much less keen to survive them
Than to share their coffins,
We shall have the sublime pride
Of avenging or following them
To arms, citizens...
I seriously doubt the collective iq of the naacp reaches 90.
“IQ is a number meant to measure people cognitive abilities (intelligence) in relation to their age group. An I.Q between 90 and 110 is considered average; over 120, superior. Roughly 68% of the population has an IQ between 85 and 115. The average range between 70 and 130, and represents about 95% of the population.”
What are they talking about? It is a song celebrating the victory over the British. It is stirring, moving, and has nothing to do with slavery.
Some wag on the radio once suggested that. I heard it over the intercom system at work and mentioned to a co-worker. We agreed that whenever DWD played over the company sound system, we would stand and put our hand over our heart. And we did. I miss you, Elizabeth.
My comments were sarcastic and apply to every one.
Stupidity is a human trait and liberal cultural literacy leaves a lot to be desired.
Then again, if America is a racist country, what keeps them here?
NAACP is not going to like my answer.
Nor mine!!!!!
Doo dah, doo dah.
LOL, literally!
Oh, I wish I was in the land of cotton,Old times there are not forgotten.Look away, look away, look away Dixie Land!
So now they’ve come out and shown us that they hate this country and want to turn it into a marxist hellhole.
In addition to all the obvious reasons, let me add that it wouldn't be made today if the writer and/or director insisted that they include, as in the first movie...
...that the black lead and the white lead get along just fine throughout the entire movie.
That is possibly the most ignorant statement I have ever seen. There isn't anything racist about the Star Spangled Banner.
The real sadness here, is that so many blacks have allowed themselves to be turned against their own country.
LOL! Of course.
But we must include the references to "ho's" and "b**ches" ... a good rap song wouldn't be complete without treating women like garbage.
