And as it stands, they're saying he took his own life.

You find him sitting in Mcdonalds table eating a burger 15 minutes later a citizen can’t execute him just because he just killed 50 people.True.
One has to wait until deep into the night when he is bed with his wives in a compound in Abbottabad.

Yup, no doubt wounded (why he dropped his weapon and fled) by the good samaritan. Then, after he was stuck in the field, put a gun to his head to end it cause he knew that was it.
