The Country Music Association has rescinded restrictions on the types of questions that can be asked by red-carpet journalists at this years CMA Awards after initially announcing this week that media would be prohibited from asking country music stars questions about the Las Vegas shooting massacre, gun rights, and politics.
The initial media guidelines for the upcoming CMA Awards had made it clear that red carpet reporters were not to ask country music singers about their position on gun rights. Journalists who ignored the guidelines would have their media credentials revoked.
According to Rolling Stone, other topics were off limits as well, including the October 1 Las Vegas attack and questions about country singers political affiliations.

CMA caves. Par for the course.
But now the restrictions are lifted (as everyone knew they would be) which will cause the “journalists” to be especially forceful with those questions to make sure they out as many anti-gun country stars as possible. The purpose is to increase the growing social isolation of conservatives by even making country music something we can’t stand once we know that many, if not most, of the artists side with the coastal elites on the issue of disarming the people.
Why must politics be injected into everything? The left could suck the fun out of everything it touches.
CMA - Another “industry group” that clearly doesn’t know its customers.
Dear country music stars. The answer is; guns don’t have rights. Thanks for playing.
Doesn’t anyone in public life have the strength of their convictions anymore?
Don’t say it to begin with if you are going to back down like a little schoolgirl facing a daddy long-legs spider.
“Why must politics be injected into everything?”
The left is about division. There cannot be something we all enjoy.
Country Music Artists should attend the school of Dolly Parton. She displays the wisdom required for an icon. Dolly does not assume she is so great and powerful that her opinion matters to everyone.
The country music artists should take a warning from the NFL’s fall. They should just sing. I personally am not interested in their opinions about social issues. I have my own.
The left >does< suck the life out of everything it touches.
Witness the Dixie Chicks
CMA =NFL.
Screw em.
“...Why must politics be injected into everything? The left could suck the fun out of everything it touches....”
The Left destroys everything it touches....everything.
Today, they’re after country music.
They are the BORG of this century and should be treated as such.
They are totally insane and should NOT be allowed anywhere near the CMA.
>>The country music artists should take a warning from the NFLs fall. They should just sing. I personally am not interested in their opinions about social issues. I have my own.
They should, but they won’t. Celebrity status in a celebrity worshiping culture goes to a person’s head. I agree with you. They are just voices in a speaker to me. I don’t care about the politics or the stands on social issues of the guy who changes the oil in my car and I need to drive that car, so I sure don’t care what the minstrel in the radio thinks.
>>They are the BORG of this century and should be treated as such.
Exactly. It is about socially isolating the people who refuse to be assimilated. By their own words, they admit that we would not be able to attend college or have jobs, if they had enough control to make that happen.
Add them to the NFL
Let them ask the leading/loaded questions. The smart ones on the receiving end of the question know they have have no responsibility to answer.
The CMA is now just a bunch of the same liberals that that make up the rest of the entertainment industry.
Country used to be different. Now it's just a way to get more of the same junk to a country audience that doesn't know or remember it's past.
Putting a cowboy hat on Lady GA-Ga or Miley Cyrus doesn't make them country singers, and that is pretty much what happened to the industry.
I've no more desire to hear what these CMA fools think than I care to hear the political opinions of Colin Kaepernick or Alec Baldwin.
