My answer would have been "Our event, our rules. If you don't like them, don't ask for press credentials." Now, let the kneeling begin.

Wonder what this man would have had to say to these reporters and their questions:

But now the restrictions are lifted (as everyone knew they would be) which will cause the “journalists” to be especially forceful with those questions to make sure they out as many anti-gun country stars as possible. The purpose is to increase the growing social isolation of conservatives by even making country music something we can’t stand once we know that many, if not most, of the artists side with the coastal elites on the issue of disarming the people.

CMA - Another “industry group” that clearly doesn’t know its customers.

Dear country music stars. The answer is; guns don’t have rights. Thanks for playing.

Doesn’t anyone in public life have the strength of their convictions anymore?

Don’t say it to begin with if you are going to back down like a little schoolgirl facing a daddy long-legs spider.

The left is so destructive. They believe that since leftists heed the thoughts of entertainers, conservatives should as well. They still do not understand that as conservatives, we explicitly do NOT want to hear about social issues from our favorite entertainers. We simply don’t respect them in that capacity. Once entertainers decide to tell us how they think politically, we take that into account and act accordingly.

Witness the Dixie Chicks

Let them ask the leading/loaded questions. The smart ones on the receiving end of the question know they have have no responsibility to answer.

Country music is dead. Garth Brooks killed it.

The CMA is now just a bunch of the same liberals that that make up the rest of the entertainment industry.

Country used to be different. Now it's just a way to get more of the same junk to a country audience that doesn't know or remember it's past.

Putting a cowboy hat on Lady GA-Ga or Miley Cyrus doesn't make them country singers, and that is pretty much what happened to the industry.

I've no more desire to hear what these CMA fools think than I care to hear the political opinions of Colin Kaepernick or Alec Baldwin.

Keeter tweeting: “I have been a proponent of the 2nd Amendment my entire life. Until the events of last night, I cannot express how wrong I was. We actually have members of our crew with CHL licenses and legal firearms on the bus, [but] they were useless...”

Mr.Keeter...if an enemy jet drops a nuclear bomb on a US naval battle group (say, for example, in the Sea of Japan), the ENTIRE fleet’s armaments would be useless. Should we go ahead and disarm the US Navy?

Just because these parasites are allowed to ask the questions doesn’t mean anyone is required to answer them. “None of your business” or “Go to hell” are perfectly valid responses to this crap.

Agreed. Better still, I think I would have just let them on the red carpet do their thing, and then frozen the crap out of them for years afterwards if they violated the agreed-upon rules.

Country music used to be fun. Think “Hee Haw” in its original run. Killed off by CBS, endured for years and years in syndication.

IMO, now it’s just theater, skewed way too much to pop. Brad Paisley used to show signs of the old fun country music, but it seems lately he’s backed off from that. Might be him, might be his label. Who knows?

I suspect one thing, though. If “country” artists start dissing their fan base with politics, Nashville’s struggling mu-sick-kan community will only grow larger.

There is no there there in what they call laughingly Country Music these days--

Country & Western Music died a long time ago and what's remains is sadly the left of center semi-pop clap-trap music attempting to masquerade as what the late, greats Hank Williams, Jim Reeves, Marty Robbins, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Jimmy Dean, Lefty Frizzell, Johnny Horton, Don Gibson, Don Williams, Faron Young and Ferlin Husky wrote and sang some 50-plus years ago.
