The White House said Wednesday that it considers the New York terrorist attacker to be an enemy combatant, a status which would make him subject to military justice.
“I believe we would consider this person to be an enemy combatant, yes,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders. “I think the actions that he took certainly justify that.”
Terrorist suspect Sayfullo Saipov, a native of Uzbekistan, is accused of killing eight people and injuring 11 others by mowing them down with a rented truck on a bike path in lower Manhattan Tuesday. President Trump said he would consider sending Mr. Saipov to the Guantanamo Bay terrorist detention center. Mrs. Sanders said the president “wasn’t necessarily advocating for it.”
Asked about the president’s call for quicker and tougher justice in terrorism prosecutions, Mrs. Sanders said Mr. Trump “was simply expressing his frustration” with the lengthy legal process that often comes with such cases.

Not an enemy combatant. He was out of uniform.
He is not allowed any of the protection under the Geneva convention. Torture him and when we have gotten every last bit of info out of his worthless hide shot him with bullets dipped in pig fat.

Congress could declare against Islam. Why not? Islam is at war with the West, and has been for 1,300 years.

He was out of uniform. Absolutely right. From the early histories of the American war of Independence to be caught out of uniform was a death sentence. Major John Andre of British forces got plans from Benedict Arnold. He was advised not to hide his uniform as he headed for British lines. He was in ordinary clothes. Though American officers pleaded for his life, he was hanged. Incidents on both sides in the American Civil War recount executions. See the account of the General, in Atlanta when six soldiers were executed for not wearing uniforms.
World War Two. Germans dressed up with American uniforms captured from US troops as prisoners. They were given summary execution. To my dismay, I did read some of the executed were 15 year old boys. These being used to repel the Allied invasion. All in all sad stuff, but to designate him as a combatant is wrong. These are psychopathic murderers.
