No other brand name has been more synonymous with the NFL over the years, than Papa Johns. However, that bond might soon break, as the pizza giant let the NFL know that the leagues anthem protests are killing their business. According to a report in the Sports Business Journal, in-game pizza sales have fallen off dramatically since President Trump blasted NFL protesters in September.
According to SBJ, NFL spokesperson Joe Lockhart confirmed to Sports Business Journal that Papa Johns had expressed concerns with the league. Further, Lockhart said that other top sponsors have expressed similar concerns as the NFLs TV ratings slump and political battles play out in the league.

what is Budweiser doing or is going to do. I like Coors.
I suspect some of these companies are looking for legal avenues to break their contracts with the NFL.
Now Flagging Licensees...
The NFL is anti-American.
America noticed.
The NFL can GTH.
It’s time to graduate to a real beer. Sam Adams, Boulevard, Yuengling or Sierra Nevada. Maybe Blue Moon.
The good news is that we are starting to see REAL economic impacts of the traitorous displays against our flag and country!
Moral Terpitude
Living in a small suburban area, Papa John’s was the only pizza joint that delivered to our home. We were almost weekly customers, even though the pizza is just so-so. No more. I do have a couple of free pizzas to use up, though.
Perhaps a sponsor could make the case that refusing to make players stand for the national anthem in accordance with the NFL’s “gameday operating rules” is effectively a breach of contract.
lucky you had one..
NO ONE will deliver here..
but ya know.. I like that to a point. it means I am so far off the beaten path even the postman does not like coming here :D
I’ve been thinking that, if the TV audience continues to decline, that some of those being hurt by it might bring some sort of legal action against the NFL for allowing a situtation that drove away viewers to persist for going on two seasons. Don’t know if there is a case, but I’d bet some lawyers have been evaluating things to see if legal action might be practical.
‘Bout time the sponsors got involved!!
YuengLing is aTrump supporter
And damn good beer too
Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada, and Blue Moon are real beers? LOL!
Try Ballast Point, Brooklyn Brewery, and Southern Tier for starters. Or if you’re cheap at least Sweetwater or Guinness.
Rumor has it that one company said it would pull out if the NFL forced players to stand. We need to track that down and find out if it is true and who the company is.
I sure would. The (n)FL is in breach of its contractual obligations
Shiner Bock ...
“NFL spokesman, Joe Lockhart”
That says it all right there. Personnel is policy.
